Guessing Game...What will be the 2009 MPG?

2008 Fit sticker MPG is 27/33

My guess for 2009 model is 30/35.

I read somewhere that the 2009 Fit would be the same mpg as the 2008 Fit. 28 city / 34 highway.

I heard that too. There may be a marginal increase, but for the most part the "increase" from 7 years of development came in the form of additional power.

I was looking through a Car and Driver mag a couple of weeks ago. It had a brief article about the 09 Fit stating the Hp is up to 120 and expect the MPG to be the same as the 2008 model.

I think its going to be the same, the added power/weight will mitigate any gains in FE imo.

Yep and so is the weight.

No matter what the EPA says, I'm prediction the actual MPG will be 5% worse than the current gen

most likely will be the same MPG, just the power is more usable as it has more.

From Inside Line (Edmunds.com) "The wheelbase has been increased 2 inches to 98.4 inches, while the overall length goes up 2.2 inches to 153.5 inches. The Fit is also 0.8 inch wider, while the front track is 1.4 inches wider and the rear track is 1.2 inches wider. It's surprising that the overall weight gain is a meager 22 pounds."

Hmmm my bad then, must have read the car and driver thing wrong. Thought it said 150 but I may be wrong. I'll have to check when I get home. Then again this is Car and Driver and not official Honda press we are talking here.

The 2009 Fit has increased power, correct? MPG goes down for sure. Maybe only 1-3 MPG, but it goes down.
