Future Fit Owner!
Will pick my up this Sunday. Been busy with work and Sunday is my only day off. Anyway, I am in Northern CA. There is about 4-5 Fit S at three dealers arround here. My Fit S with Tiwater blue + wheel lock+ carpet mat $17,500 OTD. 8.25% tax rate here.
Good luck
Good luck

To me, very worth it for a new car smell and warranty.
I love mine! I have an auto, and the best mpg I have gotten is just shy of 35 combined. I'm still happy with that.
To address three issues that people have posted.
1. Bumpy ride is a subjective judgement. I love the way the car handles. Tight, crisp and responsive. It makes our V6 Accord EX (2002) feel soft and cushy, and I know the Accord is way better than, say a Buick. You'll have to test drive to see what you think.
2. More power in the 2009. Ya, a whopping 9 more horses. I doubt this will be enough to offset the few hundred pounds of weight gain in the 2009. We'll have to wait for real test numbers, but I think stock performance-wise, it will be a wash. Member RDS was supposed to get us some insight on this, but I haven't found any threads my this member yet about his/her experience driving the '09.
3. No JDM interior/exterior bits. No dead pedal, arm rest, mirror in right side visor, body guard moldings, turn signal repeaters in the exterior rearview mirrors, LED taillights. Most of these issues can be fixed with imported Honda parts, or aftermarket parts. There are plenty of threads about, and vendors here that can get you all the parts you need to "correct" these issues, if they are issues for you. The Pics and Videos board has great pics of modified Fits. I did the JDM right side visor for the vanity mirror. I'm 37, and I learned to drive on cars without dead pedals, and could care less that the Fit doesn't have one. Don't care about the center console either, but if I need the added cupholders it provides, I at least know where to get one. I'd like to do the exterior rearview mirrors with the turnsignals, but don't want to spend the money. Same goes for LED taillights. I'd rather put the money into springs and rims.
Good luck, and testdrive!
BTW, Si would've been my other choice, but the Fit's interior volume and configurable seats have been a Godsend for us. It's been able to handle most of the jobs people think they need a Tundra for.

Are you serious? You can barely find any used Fits. And if you do find them, they aren't priced much differently than a new one. A new one is far better than a used one at this point in time.

Try 22 pound increase for the 2009 over the 2007/8.

Well, nine horsepower still isn't much of an increase. Even if it's only 22 more pounds. Like I said, we'll have to wait for real tests and performance numbers.

IMO- the si, it handles great, but it feels like such a large car!
