i tried searching but to no avail...

and i also think this is something completely obvious that i'm just not putting together in my head...

but i was vacuuming the floor by the passenger seat, and noticed a rip in the carpet. upon further inspection, it was a square cutout, then i found a second one next to it. these cutouts were also on the drivers side.

so obviously they're there for a reason, i am just not sure what that is.

Do you have carpeted floor mats? Could be for the clips that hold the mats down.
