What does this knob do?

In the picture below at 7 o'clock next to the steering wheel is a rectangular hole. I've colored it red in the picture. There is a knob inside there that you can turn. I can't find any information in the booklet about what it is. Does anyone here know what it is?

Thanks.

i think it's to allow you to remove that little storage area to get to a fuse panel. i could be wrong.

.... you turn the knob to take out that little panel so you can access the fuse panel. Very very simple to take off and put back on. I think you should look under there just so you know. The more stuff you learn about your car the better

no dude it's not a twist knob, it's a pull switch. it drops the tacks and oil behind you. sometimes it drops a banana peel.

It's so you can install your JDM coin holder. Wish there was one of these for the hazard switch!

For the love of all that is Holy, do not turn that knob!!! That is the self-destruct knob.

Or maybe it's just the knob that unlocks the fuse panel cover. I'm always confusing the two.

I was told that knob was to control the passenger ejection seat and/or the volume control for the back seat driver. They might be one in the same though.

It's true. If you eject the passenger seat, there's nothing blocking the sound from the front speakers anymore.
