2009 Fit bumpers, USDM = JDM?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if the new 2009 USDM Fit will have the same bumpers as the JDM ones (i.e. is it going to have bigger bumpers because of the stiffer crash regulations like how they did it for the GD3). Just curious, I did a few searches and I didn't see any answers for it.

Thanks!

most likely it's going to be the same thing. From the pictures i have seen, the rear is extended just like the GD3 was extended from the JDM model (probably 4-5 inches) and the front end extended about 8 inches just like the jdm model.

Oh interesting... Then there's no need to do any JDM conversions.

I think you'll need a full conversion to use a JDM Bumper looking at those pics. Look at the fenders and the space between the small glass and the headlight. One thing may work is the headlight, it looks almost identical. Jsut my .02

you also have to consider that the USDM pictured above is not the base model, its the sports model with more aggressive bumpers whereas the picture of the asian model looks like the standard configuration.

However, I think the USDM version will still be slightly different and larger/longer than the asia model.

And from what a few people have discussed here, it isn't necessarily because of crash standards. The longer snout seems to be more in response to the notion that the Fit looks like a mini-minivan. I don't get it myself. I think if we had the same front as the JDM, then many of us would love the GE as much as the GD, but since the difference seems even more pronounced than the ROW and North American market differences on the GD, many of us aren't fans.

Here's hoping someone at Honda changes their minds.

But what would account for the bulge in the hood...?

I don't think I've ever seen the side profile of the JDM GE8...it's actually pretty nice. Dimensions are more like the GD3
