WTB a Fit Sport, what's a good OTD price nowadays?
Just like the title states. I'm looking to buy a new 08 Fit Sport in Manual Tranny. I've gotten some online quotes from a couple of local dealers but they all seem kind of high. I know that a lot of dealers are marking them up at this time because of demand for fuel efficient vehicles. So I would like to know what's a good OTD price range I should be targeting. I know the MSRP for the Fit Sport Manual is $15940. Should I be trying to get that or can I get it for lower? Thanks in advance for your help.

One of our local dealers had an ad in the paper on Sunday saying they had over 50 Fits in stock. It is not the one I deal with so I am going to drop by there and see how many they really do have as 50+ sounds a bit odd. Their web site shows 6 new ones and a used black Fit Sport with 7312 miles "sale" priced at only $21988.

I'm not sure what it is like out in Cali, but people here are lucky to get them at MSRP. I ended up walking out of several dealers when they wouldn't budge $1. Ended up getting $100 off MSRP plus floor mats! Take delivery tomorrow.

I ended up getting $300 off MSRP plus the wheel locks a month ago, but I'm told that now the same dealership is not budging on prices. Seems demand for the Fit has increased in the Bay Area quite a lot just after I got mine, and dealers are adding markup again on popular vehicles.
I lucked out I guess. Good luck on your search for a deal!

I got $200 off sticker + wheel locks from Lehigh Valley Honda in PA. They were the only dealer in the area who responded to my online queries with an actual number. Also the other dealers I called all said they were selling them at sticker. One dealer went as far as to offer me $100 off, then two days later take that offer away and go back to sticker price! Pottstown Honda, what a bunch of maroons.

I just paid sticker on Saturday. They had the sticker marked up to 18,200. Their first offer was 17,400. I told them I wanted it for $16,125 price of the scion xD we were looking at. We settled on sticker.
He told me that Civic's and Fit's were going for MSRP. Accord's were going for invoice.

Expect MSRP, but it doesn't hurt to try to haggle. If they won't budge on price, try to get them to throw in the floormats, cargo net, license plate frames, wheel locks, or something along those lines. That can go a long way in making you feel better mentally about not getting the best deal on these cars.
Where they will try to get you, though, is on the alarm (which is nothing more than a shock sensor), possibly LoJack and the extended warranty. Also, if you're not just buying the car outright, do your research on what your APR should be so that you don't get milked out of a percentage or two there.
Good luck!

i had 1 sales guy tell me the only fit sport he had he could let go for 1000 dollars over msrp... Im picking mine up in a few days that i ordered 6 weeks ago for 100 under msrp with no freebies...(at a diffrent dealer) i think you should just be happy to get one, the mark up is only 600 dollars on these things, they are not in the buisness of loosing money on the hottest car out in their lots . They screwed me on the trade in tho...

good luck i just got mine for MSRP. make sure that you look for a differnence because some dealers quoted me 15905 and others 15940, i asked why the difference adn was told that honda increased the destination charage in june 35 dollars more, accounting for the difference.
hey 35 dollars is 35 dollars, ask about it and they might do soemthign about it. good luck.

Today my wife and I just put a $500 deposit down on an '09 Fit Sport automatic. We will pay MSRP when it arrives in mid-Sept. I took a test drive with 3 people in an '08 today and was amazed at the acceleration for such a small engine....
