Window rattle

Hello to everyone,
New to the Fit community. Took delivery of 2008 VBP Sport with AT two days ago and it is a terrific little car. I hate that my first post is a complaint but the search function hasn't given me an answer so far. I notice that there is a slight rattle coming from the driver's side door/window area. It might also be related to the seatbelt height adjuster. It is faint and occurs while driving over rough pavement. I am fairly certain it is not the dash rattle that many forum members have commented on (I have an Acura TSX that also had that problem) Any quick and easy ideas before I take it back to the dealer?
Thank you and I look forward to sharing experiences with all

Interesting. I have this too. I've had my Fit approx. 1 week and it began about 3 days after purchase. At times like on short drives, its not there, but after I've driven it for a length of time, it starts again, only on rough pavement, on the passenger side; Its not loud but it bugs the crap out of me when I don't have the radio on.

In my case though, I assumed it was because I had leather int. installed and thought it was caused from the installer leaving something loose in there. Now I'm not so sure.

Oh, and welcome to Fit Freak, I'm pretty new here myself. Congratz on the new Fit!
I love mine so far despite the slight rattle.

My car does have a slight rattle from the drivers side windows when going over very rough pavement. I never noticed this until I fixed my dash rattles though... For me it's not enough to worry about. I love the car.

Thanks for the replies so far guys. Not to belabor my TSX issues, but that car also had a driver's door rattle problem that was serious enough to merit a Technical Service Bulletin from Acura detailing a fix involving significant amounts of foam deadening material being inserted into the door panels. Is anyone aware of such a step from Honda in the Fit?

Interestingly, I heard the rattle this AM during my drive to work when ambient temperature was about 72 degrees but I did not notice it on my way home from work when it was 94 degrees.

I have the same sound coming from my driver side window. As mentioned above, it seems to be just behind my ear around the seal belt height adjuster. I only hear it with the radio off and over rougher surfaces. Not a big deal to me really. I just chalk it up to the Fit being an inexpensive, economical car: Not enough sound deadening materials used in it's design.

I wonder

Years ago, I would go handgun-shooting almost every weekend, often without ear protection. I have worked for a long time in the steel industry. I have jumped out of airplanes about 300 times, with the rapid pressure-changes that entails. Listened to loud music almost every day for decades so far.
As I read about rattles I don't have, I'm wondering if I just can't hear them! Maybe partial hearing loss is one reason why I love my Fit so much!

So, all you younger guys and gals, take my advice: keep listening to your music really loud, discharge firearms as often as possible, and maybe for good measure, stick your head in a metal drum while an assistant bangs on it with a shovel, and soon your car will stop rattling and squeaking. Dreams can come true. I'm living proof.

my 09 fit driver's side window rattles under bumpy conditions..... even if i apply pressure to it, it still rattles, yet it feels 100% firm to the touch.

when i put the window partially down, it also rattles.... and again, if i hold it or touch it, it feels completely firm.

so to review: it feels completely firm and yet it rattles. ugh.

dash rattles all the way!! yeah sometime soon I'm probably going to rip out most of the interior and stick dynamat on pretty much anything that might cause a noise and hopefully eventually to get rid of all the noise and have my car a solid quiet feel instead of a cheap plastic one that is falling apart. That tiny rattle will be least of your worries on noise in the long run haha.

Yeah, my car has 2700 miles on it and the dash already rattles more than my 95 Camry. It's cheap plastic and not padded very much, I take it. There is a member here who found at least one rattling point and padded it. I don't care, right now.

my fiance's fit has the driver's side door rattle, my fit doesn't. i might inspect the seal around the door and see if i notice anything that looks wrong on hers. she doesn't notice it, but it bugs me.

My dash barely rattles, and my suspension is stiff as hell. Maybe Ive blocked it out?
Im real anal on rattles and noises though.

When my dash does rattle I turn the radio up.

However; I noticed last week with my passenger window slightly down (mom was in the car) it was rattling a tad. Ive tested both sides. If I roll the windows down (5in from fully up) and if you push or kinda beat on the window they let off a deep rattle.

Normally when my windows are at MY down level I dont hear anything. Its just that certain spot.

Yeah, with Ray's post, it happens the same on both front windows. Only if you crack them a bit, they rattle. I believe this is because the window is so big in the front, but isnt in the back. Also because the window is so thin. If I didnt know math, I would say "It looks like 1mm!"

Yeah my car rattles so much, if I have someone else in the car, I get kinda embarassed and flustered about it. My car is worth so much, but it just SOUNDS like a piece of shit on the inside. I found the spot on the driver's side dash if I put my hand on it (a few inches away from the windshield, behind the defroster vent) it will stop, but when I take my hand off, it starts up again!

haha I feel the same way, it sounds like you're driving a old broken down car that has gone through like 200 miles instead of a new car. MUST get rid of the rattles. Before I never noticed it when I drove by myself cuz I would have the music playing. However lately I've been driving with the music off to try and have a conversation but if I'm going through a very bumpy road on the highway it gets pretty ridiculous.
