[quote=Firebat666;359434]so i got a call from a friend who knows cars today... he says the school UTI built a 700hp Fit for time attack... any one know anything about this... i am kind of skeptical...

Getting 700 hp from 91 cu inches isn't tough (check Indy and F1 histories) but lifetime is. Most of those 5 to 10 hp per cu in engines are called 'hand grenades' for a very good reason. Not much good if you can't get to the corner without rebuilding.
you tube has a entertaining video of a Smart with a Hyabusa engine; I rather think one of those hipo motorcycle engines, Vmax, Kawalski, Honder, Suhickey, would be a easier conversion. And a lot more fun to watch than in a Smart.

The car would run 9's with the right suspension, tires, and driver. So whoever thinks it wouldn't go anywhere, is sadly mistaken. Unfortunately this car is all show. Secondly, it could be making so much more power. 2.2 w/ 4202 please?=1k whp fit. Low 9 sec fit?

True....just most of the Honda turbo's I've seen aren't 700HP.
Nice idea...but not very practical...kinda like the VW GTI V12 TT...not practical...just my thoughts!

No turbo fwd is very practical in a sense. It's nice being different though. 10-12 sec daily driven fwd cars are nice because they're sleepers. Most people don't expect to be lit up by a civic ....and DEFINITELY NOT A FIT lol

Most civic's out in Cali are fixed up...tuned...engine swapped...really nothing new this sleeper thing.
A 700HP FIT is not a daily driver either....not sure what the MPG are on a 700HP car but I would imagine...single digits.
This car would be kool trailered to a quarter mile track.

No of course not. 500-600 whp daily drive fit though is easy. And mpg wouldn't be bad at all because the car would never see boost because of the turbo size unless you were really on it. And to the sleeper thing, I'm not sure how it is on the west coast, but domestic guys over here still sleep on them all the time.

I was the one who said that. The reason why I said it is because it would just spin.

And that car will never run 9's. Reason; its a show whore.
I hate cars like that.

Im sure it could run 9's. Id actually expect faster.

O lord...Ray I know THAT ONE will never see that...lol. I hate cars like that. If it makes power like that, it should be at the track where it belongs. IF they're going to make it a dyno queen, they should at least push the k motor. It could easily make more.

It could make the power to run 8's, the problem is the 60ft time on most fwd cars. Cm integra came close last year, and probably could have gone an 8 if the trans didn't break that day.
