When I think of it this way, I think of a garden hose. When you turn it on, it just comes out. Puting your finger on it causes it to spray harder and faster

Who drives a car with open header and expects good MPG? No ones saying run open header anyway. Modded Fits get just the same if not better MPG than some stock ones.

You cant judge stock VS modded because you havent done any mods.
Everyone else posting has.

this last weekend, i drove from san diego to irvine to fullerton, then back to san diego. set the cruise control at 58 and drove in the far right lane. I OBSERVED 48 MPG in my AT Fit. don't tell me mods hurt gas mileage, i could have never done that with stock parts.

you know where to find me.

my intake gives me 3mpg better.

when i put my stock intake box back in..i get worse gas mileage.

try it for yourself. you just have to be mature about having a lead foot. even with an intake your always tempted to stomp on it, but i dont anymore. with gas prices so high, i use the intake for my advantages other then performance

he has the fujita sri and skunk 2 50mm catback.

i dont get the 48...ive never gotten that much.

thats a questionable number even though i know the guy.

have you filled up? how many miles did you have and how many gallons did it take to refill your car?

becuase thats how you get your mpg's.

unless your baller and have a scanguage.

granite i noticed a huge mpg difference when i was cruisin at 55 with this fool to the san diego car meet.

so i someone dont doubt 40+ but 48 is super high, then again its all freeway so i can see it i guess...

58? Really? Don't you have Semi's flyin by you and honking.
I set the cruise at 63mph and get about 35mpg in my stock m/t
Looks like it's time to convince my wife we can SAVE money, if she let's me spend money modding the Fit. woop woop!

check it out... haven't filled up yet, but i filled up before i left. the tank is 10.8 gallons. i drove 240 miles, and the pin was right above half a tank when i got back. so i'm estimating 5 gallons burned. 240/5=48. solbrothers will condemn me for not actually having a solid number, but it's damn near that.

perhaps the intake and exhaust don't add up to 48mpg on their own, but SD_MR_FIT can attest to the fact that i have drastically changed my driving style. it all adds up. for me, it added up to 48 mpg.

i dont know. cant really go off of half tank though only because to me it seems like the 2nd half of the tank goes lower a lot faster than the first half.

but either way thats stil a nice number. gives us AT drivers hope for crazy gas mileage lol

ok for all you non-believers, i filled up today with photos and a receipt to prove my mileage. i said 48mpg, which i probably did, but after i got back i had to do about 20 miles of city driving, which lowered my overall mileage. still, i averaged 46.14 mpg.

271.9/5.893 = 46.13948 mpg average.

hahaa this guy.

yeah he has changed his driving.

super slow....

why is it that the first half gets like the best gas mileage.
the second goes to shit.

i wanna see numbers for a full tank.
im going to try this out guys.

ima go 55 of the freeways. and super slow on the main roads.

unfortunately my driving is 90% streets and 10% freeways haha
but i will get those numbers.

my goal is to get to 43 and thats it.

i cant believe you actually TEXT ME THAT EARLY just to tell me haha. your lucky i just woke up before that.

Dont think I hate you, I dont that much.
That was a joke.

Took a drive to Lakeland last night. My car seems to like highway on the stock airbox better than with an intake.
Ill keep everyone posted on this tank.

I think it just seems that the second half goes faster because the gas light will turn on at between 8.5 8.75 gallons...

which makes us feel like we need to fill up, even though we have nearly 2 gallons left. that means that we basically drive off of 8.5 gallons...

the first half being 5 gallons and the second half being 3.5. The first half really does get better gas mileage because we use the entire first half... 90% will not use all of the second half.
