Anyone have their tach in the center?

So I was wondering if anyone has a kit that would allow the tachometer to be moved to the center gauge and the speedo over to the left gauge. I think it would be pretty cool. It would give a Porsche / Ferrari feel to the driver. Maybe? Also if there are enough people interested, perhaps we can find a vendor to make something like this.

Yea they've got flashy guages and stuff... just to distract you from the long list of shortcomings

No...he doesn't mean in the center of the front console he means in the center of the existing gauge cluster. This is the first manual car I've owned that has the tach moved from the center. I would be nice by I'm pretty sure all the electronics would need to be reconfigured behind the gauge cluster.

It would probably be easier to have a diy gauge cluster made with like Defi gauges or if you were baller enough an AIM system

yeah it isn't possible with the existing cluster. it isn't made up of three separate units (speedo, tach, fuel) but it is all connected together as a single unit. i would prefer that too, its a pain having the tach blocked by my hands when i am turning or accelerating

after a while of driving a particular manual car, you will never even look at the dash. the shift point changes so frequently depending on what is coming, what is next, what is behind you, there is no point that you should always shift. I have been driving my miata for 3 years now, and even on my third exhaust I dont have to look at the tach much at all. Can just feel the car, and what it wants.
