2005 1.3L & 1.5L Honda Fit Specs

I posted the specs of the various Fit models and Civic 4dr hatchback and sedan in the Gallery. I've seen a lot of post of members that want to know how large or small the Fit is compared to other cars and this is a easy way to see how it compares to two cars that most people have seen in the flesh. The sizes are listed in metric and standard units.

You can also view the Specifications at the link below: https://www.fitfreak.net/gallery/alb...0Specs3data.xls

The 1.3L Fit/Jazz sold in Japan is only offered with the normal CVT with out the 7 speed mode so I don't have ratio data for the 1.3L manuals sold in Europe and Asia. If someone has the ratio data, I'll add the information to the chart.

The manual ratios are on the Australian Honda Jazz site if you would like to incorporate them in your excellent spreadsheet.

http://www.honda.com.au/jazz/
GLi is 1.3 DSi and VTi, VTiS 1.5 VTEC
All offered with 5 speed manuals as well as CVT
but No 7 speed mode on the GLi

Just found this pic through Google. I think everyone in the US is familiar with the size of the Golf: Big on the outside, small on the inside.

Its always more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

Sorry I just can't help myself. I really like this car.

Don't know what this means but it looks cool.

Its the crumple zones with the yellow being the safety cell. For such a small car it fairs ok in a crash.

Note the amazing amount of interior space in that picture. I could probably put a small Toro riding mower back there!

Beautiful. Looks like a wonder amount of cargo space. I can barely fit my bicycle in my large Taurus, but it looks like it'd fit wonderfully in the Fit with the seats folded.

My Taurus has folding rear seats, but unless you have a long, low profile item, it's useless.

Its being pushed to the limit. The tyres would be breaking traction.

Some nice strut bars would fix that right up.

How about some sway bars? Does anybody make them? Any sway bar specs stock and aftermarket? Poly bushing kits?

Body roll? You don't know the meaning of body roll

None seems to make sways for the Jazz. I've always found bang for buck the absolutely best suspension upgrade you can do on a car are sways. Springs and shocks can be a real expensive path.

Yet there are heaps of brands of Strut bars. You can get front tower struts, rear tower struts, a bar that fits behind the rear bumper assembly, B-Pillar struts, C-Pillar struts, lower front bar, lower rear bar, tie bars, in fact more bars than an Australian country town but not any sway bars. You can get a full roll cage.

Heaps of different coil overs available even one option from Honda themselves in Japan.

I spoke with Whiteline www.whiteline.com.au here in Australia and they are willing to develop some sways if provided with a donor vehicle. Unfortunately I can't do without the family car for the period of time they need it for else I'd volunteer. When the Jazz finally makes it to the US market (only 5 years after Japan) the incentive for them to get on with development will be there as export is important to them.

I think the 2CV might fail the infamous moose test. Just as well the driver isn't sitting on the other side of the car. I can't see the guys feet thru the floor ala Fred Flintstone style.
