K & N air filter?

Has anyone else tried a K&N air filter? I have one in my 07 sport automatic and can't say it helped. In fact it may have hurt. I got 40 mpg an a trip to Morrow Bay but only 38 on a trip to Phoenix ( from So.-Cal.) Then again it could just be that the Phoenix run is more hilly btw HI Everyone. Nice to have found you...."newbie...put-put ( thats what we affectionately call our Fit ).

I have one, and also cant say if it really helped, but it didnt hurt either. Best part of getting one is the fact its washable and reusable. You MAY gain 1hp or so with it, nothing you will ever feel.

I have one, too.
I have found that my fit is able to get up from a dead start a little better. More like a VW -- as though the increased airflow assists low end torque.

Gas mileage not noticeably better -- but i'm not going back.

Consensus over at the Jeep forums is that the manufacturer got all the easy horsepower, and that you will be hard pressed to improve it with minor mods. If that's true of our antidiluvian I-6s, it's surely true of the high tech engines of Honda's doing.
The other gripe with the K&Ns is poor filtering of dust; far less of an issue for an on-roader than a Jeep.

it didnt help because u r driving an autotragic. for real.

i have one because its an OEM replacement filter that will last longer than the car itself.

How do you figure that an auto is not going to show any gains compared to or show less than the manual? I am guessing you have never driven one before. Am I correct with this statement?

Now how do u know that u have driven more?? Maybe he is a valie and parks cars for a liveing. Oh and a AT or MT does not matter at all with a Air filter. For u to think it would is just plain stupid. There is no gain in them period. Yes they can last a long time due to the recharge kit for them and thats it. And even if u have drove more cars it does not mean u know what u are talking about. with the statement u wrote i would say u know very little my friend or were drunk when u wrote that. I'm hoping with the drunk part

So you have. Cool. I was wondering what you were basing your experience off of. Oh, and no need to be a jack ass about your "skillz". You do not know me or my driving back ground. I was curious as to how you came to think that the auto Fit can not notice an improvement from something simple like a filter. I built the intakes for both my wifes (manual '08) and mine (auto '07) and I actually notice very similar results in them both.

Just because you have more posts and rep than someone does not make you good on this or any other forum. Keep that in mind next time you try and sand blast some one please. It was a simple question and that was all. Not a reason for you to let out the midnight fury to some supposedly unsuspecting person.

If you took a second to learn something about a person, or maybe instead of posting they are stupid because they may have felt or wanted to feel something with their heard work, you may see that this place can be a lot more fun and useful at the same time.

I am a very helpful guy and will bend over to help anyone fix anything, you Sir, are acting like a jack ass and I do not feel that it is warranted.

To Hogarth;

It is nice to see that this is freeing up some of the lost ponies this thing has.

To Put Put;

You may have noticed a loss because an increase in altitude and higher sustained temps along your trip. It is a very nice drive to both places though. I am sure you had fun none the less.

Wow, I am not the only one that feels that this was not warranted. Thanks guys. I was not a valet, but I sold cars for a living and have driven a lot there and also as a mechanic. I have driven vehicles that most have not even heard of much less ever driven. It is good to be military.

Hi memphisfit: Tell me about your cold air kit. What brand and level of difficulty to install? and any other details you want to share. Also I read somewhere (on another forum) that the Fit induction/ exhaust sysyem is " resonated from intake to tailpipe tip". This, if true, leaves open the posibility that mods like this result in much less gain than expected if any.

you won't get the additional HP/TRQ unless you have their sticker on the rear window.
