In real life, the '09s ain't too bad....
I had to go by the dealer to pick up a tube of touch-up paint, so I looked around for some '09s....found an OR and a VBP on the lot. Here are some photos. In person, the nose of the car isn't as nasty as I thought it would be. The orange color overcomes almost every other flaw, I loved it! Even in the shade, it's a much nicer color than the BOM. What struck me right away was the headlights...very different which is why I took a close-up. I'll do another post after the photos.

The '09 headlight has more dimension, that little bit at the top of the light sticks out. Looks good.

Tried to get an idea of the nose difference but you see it doesn't really look bad...it's just very different from the '08...

More photos
Some more pics....I did not drive it, I was almost afraid I'd like it too much! I had not seen my sales guy since my last visit when he couldn't get me a Fit...he was amazed that I had gotten one...He loved my 3rd brake light courtesy of Alexfree...He told me he could give me a good trade in! I laughed and told him "not yet!" They have not gotten any TW Fits in yet, but they've had all the other colors. They had a MR and a NHBP but I didn't go look at those. They also had a BBP which was filthy but it was the same color, so that question is answered. The OR paint looks really flat in these photos, since it was sitting mostly in shade. The pearl comes out in the sun, and it gets all golden and glowing.
I did sit inside them and I think they feel more like a Civic or even a CRX. Not like our '08 Fits, but still a great car by Honda. If I were going to get one, it would be Orange Revolution or TW. Here are some more photos.

honestly speaking, i think the 09's look real good. it appears more refined and
overall just a nicer more complete look than a Yaris.
jk guys with the 09's. your cars look nice. i like it.

ROFL!!! Yeah, that's MINE!!
I know, I like it better but .... (eating own words) the '09s really are better in person than in photos, even these.

actually i think the GD's are rounder and cuter looking which i like.
the GE's are sharper more electricity-like design. (i didn't want to
say appliancy) hahahaha. jk again.

50/50
I got to see an 09 yesterday for the first time yesterday. I'm not in love nor do I hate it. If approached with an open mind I'd say the advantages/disadvantages between the 09/08 is about a draw. I didn't get to sit in them but the seats looked way more comfy! The looks were quite tolerable. The GD-3's not exactly a Ferrari GT250 either by the way.

I just looked back at the photo of the 2 rear ends again...I really dislike the '09 rear view. That is one reason it's like another car to me...It's a good car, for what it is, but I prefer the GD3. The GE8 look is so stretched out, long, and yet egg-shaped, all at the same time. The '09 looks better in black, IMO, and probably in white, too, but I will have to take more photos next time I go back.
But if I didn't have an '08, I'd have to say I might just buy one. It still tops all other competition in the class BY A MILE.
I am not in love with the new Fit, though. I would buy it for the utilitarian aspects, not because I fell in love with it, like I did the '08 BBP.
And I absolutely still HATE the huge quarter-panel window. Totally out of proportion to the rest of the car. Looks stupid. Way stupid.

With these side by side photos, I can definitely say, as a GE8 owner that I really like the wheels on the GD3 a lot better. GD3s also look lower, which I also really like better. It's like the GE8s are meant to be lowered from stock, they look so high in comparison! Good photos though...
1/4 windows
I agree! I think the 08s "quarter windows" are also too large but the 09s look animated or WAY out of proportion. Never liked them!! The seats look sooo much comfier though. By the way I was never displeased with my 08s seats. No vehicle is perfect if your eye is critical enough.

Brandon is my sales guy - He's really tall, and really laid-back.
I personally don't mind the 'quarter windows' on either model. They're not very attractive, but I think removing them entirely would look funny. I just wish they would swivel open in the front like the old conversion vans did. Since the Fit is so tall on the inside, when I crack the window it goes right over my head. The triangular windows were awesome for breeze in your face.
Also, I think the larger windows in the GE8 could be beneficial. I find visibility poor due to the placement of the windshield pillar, and I have a huge blind spot. It may be the way I sit, but when I'm ripping around left curves (not turns, but in a curvy road), I can lose an entire car if they're coming at me at a certain speed. They can stay out of my line of sight the entire curve, which is pretty dangerous if I'm not on my side of the road (I usually am anyway, but...) I have to lean way forward or sideways to check that blind spot.
I'm not freakishly tall or anything, only 5'6", but I have long legs and my seat is almost all the way back. In my civic I did drive all the way back.
Do any of you with the '09 have that huge blind spot or do you find that quarter window helps?
