lowering, then wheels, then bodykit.

that's the normal way of modding for appearance.

Say no to body kits! Personally i dont like them unless you are going straight up VIP on your car then they can look good.
I say just get some coils, and slam your car. That alone makes the Fit look really good. Maybe a subtle lip and a spoiler and your car will look hot.

I don't think you would be saying that if you had a base model though. Sideskirts and a rear spoiler should be plenty.

Springs and Camber kit goes on next week! I'm so excited

Same here, bodykits are a big no-no for me, however i would like to get at least the front lip which im having trouble finding. But i bought the sideskirts from a fellow fit memeber for $100, plus 60-something shipping.

IMO, any more than a .5-1" drop and you lose a lot of suspension travel, and will likely kill the stock shocks.

Minimal drops are key to keeping the suspension travel sufficient and prevent bottoming out.

I think my ultimate goal is to kill my shocks. That way I can have an excuse to buy new ones.

problem is, unless aftermarket shocks are shortened for use with lowering springs, you're going to come into the same issue....the shocks will blow. It will be delayed, but it will happen.

One thing we used to do in the b15 sentra community was buy Koni yellow inserts, crack open the stock housings and shorten them. It was ghetto and probably not that great, but they were shorter shocks.

Koni needs to make shortened editions like they did for my CG chassis accord. They had Neuspeed Modified Konis with 5 perches instead of 3 and the shaft was shortened by 1", which makes my accord ride like a luxury car on soft setting, and rock hard on firm, even with a 3+ inch drop. The only inserts I have seen are tokico blues

So does that mean either Skunk2's or Progress springs are safe to use within lets say 2-3 years?

I got news for you....You will probably never feel any older inside than you do now. Nature is cruel and ages our bodies, but not our insides... some people overcome that with plastic surgery....

Wait until you ARE 80, then you'll feel 160! Ha ha.

As one of my favorite small creatures said.

"When 200 years old you are, look as good you will not!"

the best way would be coilovers, becahse you can choose, what spring rate, height, and damping adjustment.but hte cfheapest would be springs.

Just got my springs and camber kit in the mail How much should I expect the install fee to be, around 200?

I would install them myself but I don't have the necessary tools and I would feel more comfortable with someone who is qualified.

you can't really botch a spring install. I wouldn't waste the money paying someone to do it. They'd charge $200 just for the springs!

for the front you'll need a spring compressor, go rent one from autozone or something. Then just follow the instructions.

shouldn't need much more than a 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, and/or 19mm wrenches aside from the spring compressors.

I'd offer to do it, but I don't install suspension for people due to liability purposes.

To be perfectly honest with you, I really don't feel comfortable doing this myself.

thats fine. However, it be noted, it's simply bolt removal, spring removal, replace springs. There's not much to screw up, lol.

It's when you get to brakes you gotta be really careful

I'm just saying, you could spend that $200 elsewhere....like on tools that'll allow you to do future installs as well.

shoot....if you're in my neck of the woods I'll help you install 'em. I won't do it for you, but I'll guide you.
