which color--black or white?

I'm trying to decide between what color fit to get. Someone told me white is easier to take car of and maintain (eg. prevent rust). Is this true?

Will choice of color affect more than just the "looks" of the car?

I like both, so it's gonna be a hard decision. My hubby has a white car and it's hard to keep clean, but I think that's just the same with black...
Now I got you all confused

White, furshirr.

White might be difficult to keep clean, but black is even worse. Every time you ride through some dust, your black vehicle will keep some of it for you to see when you walk up to the car.
(Edit: any Fit owner will tell you, the back of the car is always getting dusty or dirty before the rest, due to the negative pressure created by the square-backed car's aerodynamic characteristics.)

Black also shows swirls a lot worse. Black is also a hell of a lot hotter in the summertime. Black is also less visible to other drivers.

Black looks good on a Fit. White looks great on a Fit.

Other than those things, I'd say get a black one.

Before any black Fit owners (the car, not the owner, har har) get upset, I must say that when a black car is clean, in my opinion, nothing is prettier. It's just that it's SO much trouble to keep them clean.

Black is a pain in the A to keep clean. I am constantly keeping it clean and wiping it down. And the back always seems to be the dirtiest cuz of the back pressure described above.

yeah I prefer black. It does look dropdead sexy when freshly waxed and at the time of day right before the sun drops down, and you flip on the yellow foglights, nothing looks better, NOTHING.

Yeah black is super hard to clean. But after a nice wash and some turtlewax ICE, it looks effing fantastic! haha. But i think black is ok where it rains alot. it only looks dirty when its dry. White gets dirty when it rains because all the dust turns black.

I have a black. I don't like the way the white looks, and black is definitely harder to keep super clean, but I still would rather look at a dirty black car than a clean white car. Of course, my first choice was tidewater blue, but they had a huge wait time for that.

Black looks great when new...but after a short while....you start seeing swirls, chips and scratches.

White is much easier to wash and dry. White is so bright that swirls are almost invisible. Chips dont stand out as much. Finally, what color are most scratches?? White.
