Psssh, I wish I had a garage! Wouldn't have to quick detail my car every other day.

Right now, the P.O.S. garage I have is full of crap, but very soon we are moving to a new property with a three car garage with LOTS of room inside! I call it a three car only because there is a two car door and a one car door, but there is enough room inside for another car prolly. We are just plain dumping most of the crap that's in the garage now 'cause we ain't been using it, so 'bye-bye'!!!

We have a carport, no walls and no door. We don't need a garage for snow, etc. but the pollen still blows all over my car.

A garage is invaluable when it comes to protecting your car from sun damage, snow, bird poop, sap, tree branches etc.
I built my own pop-up garage for my Fit, since the garage is already used by a Mazda3.

Please consider joining Freecycle or another local group where people will pick up your stuff and give it a good home! Don't just dump it - others can use it!

Congrats on your future new home! Sounds wonderful. My dream is a real garage, 3 car would be super.

1 car garage, 2 Fits. My fiance usually parks her MR Fit outside, and my NBP gets the garage since black gets dirty so fast. But she has had the garage for about a week. My car looks dirty, but her car looks good!

Wouldn't a dome tent work for the Fit?

I pay extra for the underground parking at my apartment, but is it ever worth it!

On the rust question the OP mentioned though... I suspect a heated garage (which mine isn't) would make the rust problem worse, since you're still getting snow/slush/salt under your car while driving, and it has a chance to melt (so the salt is no longer diluted) and do damage while sitting in a heated garage.

Both, I guess. It is in a garage at home (along with the Matrix, the Miata and the 240z), but when I'm at work and staying in the company apartment it sits outside.

I went on to visit my brother and when I came back it was like this:

My wonderful wife cleaned out the garage!
Unfortunately, I don't know what she did with all of the stuff
She said she didn't get to do all she wanted and is planning a second "purging".
