Smile New Fit Pictures on Honda's Official Website

I just checked out Honda.com's Fit page and they have added some new pictures. I guess there is a video too, but I'll have to wait until I get home from work to download the video player. I think this means we're getting closer to seeing the Fit in the showrooms. I'm so excited!

Exclamation

It's not a video but a highly detailed 3 D view with lots of undercar stuff!

Fun...goood find. I like the interactive interior view. It helps you get a better idea of how that interior actually works with the folding seats.

I wish the interior view was a 360 view though. Want to see more pics of the dash

Whoa

Changing that bumper is going to be harder than I thought.
Definitely a different car (wheelbase length) than what is
driving around in the other countries.

Question

Did anyone else notice this "thingie" underneath the spare well?
The VTEC board thinks it may be a jack point...

Ooh, you can get to the oil filter without having to reach past the cat (or any other hot exhaust part).

Its good when the engineering department gets involved in the design of cars instead of the marketing department.

Still, I recommend chasing them away first; they can drag used oil all over the house.

And the price keeps going up: "super-friendly base model starting price of between $13,000 and $14,000."

Does that mean the sport will be in the $16k range?

But it looks good. Maybe I can pick up a used one in a year or so.

Has anyone else noticed that Honda's marketing is apparently targeting 5 year old's with their Fit website?

"The Fit is Go?" What is that supposed to mean? Maybe they forgot to insert an "a".

Fit stickers? OK, hopefully they'll add 50HP because the Fit is slow.

Fit Society? Sounds like a gym membership.

The JDM Honda Fit and Canadian versions are much better.

"The Fit is Go!" is like the NASA guys: "Go for takeoff" or the pre-launch check-off "Propulsion? Go! Avionics? Go!"

where is the bar on the rear suspension? did they just not put it in the picture or are we getting all independent?

It is independent. Did you have "torsion bar" confused with a "beam axle?"

A torsion bar is just a different spring configuration.

edit: nice explanation of torsion bars here along with drawing of two different implementations, both of which are independent.

In total agreement. The only good thing about the site is the 3D exterior in Viewpoint player. Otherwise looks very pre-school. Only thing missing is Barney or tele-tubbies.

Honda should of hired us to do their site... This is what happens when grey haired execs lose touch with current times.
