Traded a Fit for a Fit!!!

Not sure if anyone else out there has done this, but it was time for my 60,000 mile service on my 2007 Fit Sport auto and i needed new wipers. My wife jokingly said, "why dont you just trade it on a new one since you drive it so much". I travel quite a bit doing automotive photography all over the east coast so it's nothing to drive 1000 miles in a weekend to a show and back. So i stopped in the local Honda dealer where i bought my 2007, they were floored that it had 61,000 miles on it already but still offered me a deal so i rolled out of there with a Storm Silver 2009 Fit Sport Auto. They said i was the only one they have seen to trade a Fit for a Fit! LOL

Here are a couple pictures of my 2007 that is now back on stock wheels with no tint sitting on the Honda used lot.

Dont have any yet, just picked it up day before yesterday, I had to wait a day to get it cause it had JUST come off of the truck when i bought it. It was nice to go from 61,000 miles to 9 miles, keep the same payment and get a full warranty.

What car could i have that got 38+mpg, hold all my gear, fit in tight spots and drive like a go cart other than a fit!! LOL

Thats one sharp TW, the wheels look great on it. What kind are they and did you put them on the GE8?

Hey Congrads on the new 2009 Fit! Pretty cool to go in for routine work and come out with a new car. That is a lot of miles for a 2007 - I got my Fit in May 2007 and it is right now at 9,400 miles! I just took it in for another oil change and tire rotation.

Ive only drove the 09 from the dealership home, to work then back home. I got like 65 miles or so only. Love it!!! Wish i could have afforded the Navi option, but i got a Garmin so im good. I dont like where the aux plug for the radio is, i have Sirius and it was all hid in my 07, but i will have a wire up my dash with the 09......at least till the local stereo shop runs me a new one.

I plan on tinting the windows (20% this time, NOT 5% like the white one). As for the wheels, i sold them and dont plan on putting any on this one. I lost 5-6 mpg with them. Yeah they looked cool, but wasnt worth it since i travel so much.

Oh, those wheels were 17x7 Image Alloy Wheels with BFG 205/40-17 KDW Tires. They had a slightly wrong offset and rubbed when i had people in the car. The wheels and tires were actually fully sponsored by those companies. I had 2 previous full custom show cars that they sponsored and since i still kinda work in the car show industry, they took care of me!

They gave me $10,500 for it. Even thought it had 61,000 miles, it was still NEW looking. I'm one of those anal people that has to keep a car clean and it didnt even have any scratches, dings, etc. I actually looked like it did the day i bought it, just more miles. LOL

how did it have no dings or scratches at 61k? Mine has 6800 and the side mirror is chipped up and the front bumper too. Driving 300 miles roundtrip to Orlando and back takes its toll I guess? But you travel more...anyway that's awesome you got a new Fit. I might do the same ;D

I just keep it waxed 2 or 3 times a year, dont follow close on interstates and just plain take care of my cars. I've heard that comment before with a show car i had....."how do you keep that car with no scratches" LOL

Yeah there were a few bug marks on the front bumper, but no big marks. Besides, white hides a lot of stuff you would see on a dark car.

I really like the 1st gen body styling. Especially from the front.
Did you use the wheels for your new Fit?

You're not alone. I did the same last weekend, although my mileage was a little bit less than yours (just broke 55,000).

I went from the 2007 Sport m/t to the 2009 Sport m/t. However I went from Vivid Blue to White.

Funny thing I found out today when I went back to the dealership to pickup my floormats -- my 2007 was already sold to an employee of the dealership. It was on the lot 2 days! Too bad, I wanted to see it one last time.

awesome. seems like there is demand for gd's and fits in general.

i was considering trading in my fit for an 09 lx-s civic (the only civic you can get with a black interior that isn't an si) and they were going to give me like 14.5k for my fit even though it was only worth about 12 AND had negative equity to boot.

Congrats on the new car! They couldn't pry me out of my GD with a suitcase full of cash and a crow-bar, I just love it too much. That and the new interior makes me retch. LOL My wife would NEVER, EVER not even in jest tell me to trade in a car I'm driving, she knows me too well you see
