I've been dying for the type-r to come to the states, if it does i will be on the list to buy one. Amazing road course/autocross cars. The Fit should prove its more of a road course type car than a drag car, much like the xb.

In terms of cost, its really hard to say. The usdm integra type r i remember selling for around $25,000-$26,000 brand new, keep in mind this is also a few years ago. Something else to debate here, it had Acuras badging. Still a Honda, but as we all know Acura is known for the up-scale version of honda's. So if the Civic-R did make it to the states, and did remain a Honda, i believe this should keep cost down. My guess would be it shouldn't base anymore than $25,000 regardless of its rising popularity over the years. I just hope they remain true to the performance aspect if they do bring it over, and keep extra features such as a/c as an option. It will keep base costs down, and give people more options in terms of what they are looking for. A raw performance car, or a performance car with qualities of that not missing in other cars. A/c, speakers, cd players, so on.

Only thing i really don't like about the concept is the rear wing. Everything else i can definitely see happening very close to the concept. If i were to own one, i'd have to take that wing off. I love hatchbacks.

oh yeah, the type-r concept does have the k20z3. Not sure if it will be used in final production, but it is the same motor and tranny from the current Si.

Highly unlikely that the car will have the same performance. An Australian-spec Integra Type R sports the same K20A2 as the first RSX but readily beats the American car. Reduced weight and enhanced suspension help quite a bit.

Also I would not count on Honda using the same engine. They might; they might not. Remember, everyone thought the Civic Si would be using the K20A2 just because Honda said it would be a 200hp 2.0L unit.

Exactly, but i do remember Honda annoucing the concept did have the k20z3 in there. In terms of performance compared to the Si, type-R hands down. Maybe similar times in drag, but an Si could not touch a type-r on a road course. Its not even a drivers race, unless Honda slacks up a bit on the suspension compared to the past. But i doubt it, i think they will do well. I just hope it eventually comes to the states, maybe for 2008.

It doesn't make trim levels of the type r, it keeps true to the history and just makes them opitions.

it has a very euro hatch look, wouldn't sell in the states without some design changes

I would buy one, I think it would sell with the agressive styling and the bold lines..

I think it would sell well, but I've read that Honda says it's very expensive to make and that we definitely won't get any version of this hatch in the U.S.
