How come College Hills Honda so much less than dealer?

Are you getting accessories of the exact same quality as you'd get from a Honda Dealer if you buy them from College Hills Honda?

I'm just trying to figure out why College Hills Honda can beat the dealer price by so much $. College Hills doesn't deal in counterfeit goods or anything do they?

the dealer has a TON of overhead, therefore prices are much higher than online stores, even for the exact same product

My local dealer won't even consider a discount. The parts guy had the gall to look offended when I pointed out that Bernardi (which also has a brick-n-mortar establishment) sells the accessories I wanted for much less. I told him I'd be more than willing to pay a little more than Bernardi's price forthe convenience of not having to wait for delivery, but no dice. Oh well. Their loss, and they won't get any repeat business from me, either.

Not sure how they're offering the discounts, but I'm happy with my HFP muffler I got from them. Fast shipping and genuine parts. They may be able to make it work by getting greater volume due to lower prices.

i personally think honda dealerships/stores (not all just some) overprice there products because they think we have no where else to go buy them....someone should tell them about the internet

Yea, it's not that College Hills is cheap, it's that Honda dealers are so overpriced. I'd say at least 90% of people looking for accessories will just go straight to the dealer, so they can charge whatever they think people will pay. There aren't any quality issues to worry about either. Unless it says otherwise, they're the same exact parts.

With my previous car, I ordered an engine upgrade kit online for less than half what the dealer was charging. They looked at me with a straight face and said they couldn't meet the price, but if it was an authentic part in the original GM part box, they'd install it when I brought it in. I thought that was cool at least. It involved reflashing the ECM, so I had to go to a dealer anyways. From what I can tell, some dealers really haven't caught on to the internet thing very well...

Exactly.

The crazy thing is that these accesories, have such a huge profit margin, and yet the dealers charge so much.

I was quoted $92 at one local dealer, with the non-chipped key (which will only open the doors) for $42. The dealership where I bought the car was nice enough to cut a non-chipped key for free. I have it secured to the car in a hidden location in case I ever manage to lock the keys in the car.
