even at -8F this morning (windchill -22F) the plastic under the e-brake snapped on my car when i was pulling out of my driveway. my FitS resides outside.

pretty sad. cars are suppose to work at -40F (-40C).

We just had 14 days below -30 and 10 of those were -40. I guess the difference is that we have very little humidity.

ive been coming to work keeping the revs up high like 3500rpm+ (near 4k)
so that i can charge the battery and keep things warm between my house
and work (which is only like 25min trip on surface roads).

it's helped out quite a bit. absolutely no issue starting the car in the -12F
morning. windchill was like below -28F. it's cold, but ive experienced
colder (back in 94 or 95 it was -20F or something). but then again a
buddy of mine that lived in canada showed pict of his thermometer at -40F.
