50k later
50k later
Well ive hit 50k on my mt fit sport and 30k on my auto fit sport....i wish i had kept my xb... http://www.scionlife.com/gallery/personal/1841_1.jpg
50k and my fit is starting to rattle badly....the clutch is slipping...the gas mileage is far from great....and even with wide tires the handling lacks badly. Out of all the honda products i currently own (civic si, integra xsi, accord v6) the fit leaves me feeling like honda got me on this one.
yes im ranting....

yup just hit 50k and it slips under load....my xb had 108k on it stock clutch no problems and it was supercharged...my 2000 civic si had 72k on it before the clutch started slipping...integra xsi has 280k and on its 3rd clutch....whats really pissing me off is the integra with the b16a gets better gas mileage commuting.
. . . still drove like new when I sold (traded) it.
Don't know if you got a lemon or it was damaged/improperly maintained.
- No clutch problem
- No rattles
- Excellent handling (due in part to the Michelin MXV4 tires I put on last summer)
- Excellent lifetime f/e = 37.5 mpg

my car has 50K and she still drive perfect no problems or nothing but i treat her like gold and i change her oil ever like 1500 miles and i dont ragg on her or nothing so idk u probaly got a bad one
I have about 13 thousand on mine had it about 7 months. The dash rattles in different places very annoying. The electric power steering get tiresome after a while. Seems you have to steer the car all the time. Sometimes I wonder if i made the right choice in car! Not sure about the build quality even though its made in Japan. Rant off...
ok mine has 15346 as of today and bought it in Jul. And no problems. Not saying u can't drive but a clutch going is due to operator failure. I see that ur clutches lasted longer on other cars u have owned. But did u drive the fit the same it seems to me that the clutch should have lasted longer than that. And i have not heard of any dash noises yet. Do u still have warranty on it take it in and have them chek out the dash for u. Maybe u just have really bad luck with Fits
yeah it could be that you ride the clutch a fair but or you do alot of clutch dumps, or you let someone drive it that does. im not assuming what your driving style is, but that is my guess what it oculd be

both my fits have dash rattles...there is also recalls on the rattles...
the car is cheaply and poorly built...and those saying it handles well is nuts.
Ok i know how to drive to had a Evo well if there is recalls take it in that means they will fix it. Well now that problem is fixed. Well i still say maybe u are rideing the clutch to much if its going at 50k and you are the only one i have seen with this problem. And for u to think it does not handle well is nuts. Like i said i had a evo one of the best handling cars out there and the fit does not handle like the evo but does handle great. For it being stock it is a great car. The fit is not a track car maybe that is why u are having so many problems with it. I'm not doubting ur driving skill just basing my statements off what i see. just becasue u race cars does not mean anything at all.
on those cars though you race to win not really care about longetivity
of your clutch or brakes....just need to get through that race day.
so that argument does not really relate to street cars.
if youdrive your Fit like you do your race cars, it ain't going to hold up.
A lot of very well known car mags have praised the Honda Fit for its handling and ability to throw it into a curve and just watching it melt like butter as far as the handling goes. I have had my 2007 since May and it is driving better today than when it came off the lot. I follow the maintenance reminders and don't drive the car hard very often - although sometimes at a green light with clear traffic I put it through its paces to the speed limit line - but not very often. Yes, there are some rattles but worse in really cold weather and there are some things that I don't like about the car but the pluses outweigh the minus' because I love and adore my MR Sport Fit - it is my first Honda and will not be my last. My plans are to own the car for about 5 to 7 years before I move on to my next Honda. That will put me close to retirement age and the plan will be to purchase a nice slightly used Accord or heck who knows I might just be the only nearly 60 year old woman running around with a Mugen Civic SI - LOL!

i learned to drive from the best out there...paid thousands of dallors at skip barber's racing school and also from danny mckeever at willow springs where i got my scca lisence. im done trying to argue. ignorance is truly bliss
So because u race does not make u a good driver. I raced my evo it was my track car that is what i meant by it. So why is the clutch going at 50k than if its not the driver. Well i never payed thousands of dallors to learn to race. But i am smart enough to know that this fit is a good car with plenty of good reviews by plenty of people. And to know that if a clutch is going at 50k its something the driver is doing ethier ur use to a sooner or later realse maybe. And that is making it wear at a faster pase than it should. Oh yea and u shoudl know of the AMS evo than right well if the fit is not a great car why did the fit beat the ams evo on the track. Here is the link not sure if u guys have seen it
