You want small, cheap cars? Saw an article on www.edmonds.com about no frills cars. A company in Pakistan called Transmission makes a car named the Alif, that sells for $2870. Has a 200 CC 4 stroke gas engine and gets close to 80 mpg. In India, Tata is coming out with a car in 2008, code named Project X-3 that will sell for around $2800. Has a monster 700 CC engine with 45 HP. However, the catch to buying either of these 2 cars is that there isn't much crash protection. I guess it goes back to that old saying, "you buy cheap you get cheap".

 

US regulations won't allow something with horrible crash ratings to be sold to the public.

 

I wouldn't care if it had 1000hp... Be Safety = me not buying it
