Honda Australia wanted close to A$300 + fitting as you had to buy about 3 different parts to get a completed unit. They claimed it was a big job to fit it and would cost another couple of hundred in labour. The unit is fixed and cannot be folded up out of the way.

I've seen aftermarket Jazz armrests out of singapore for under A$100 shipped.

Remember US$1 buys almost $1.40 in Australian pesos.
Go grab the honda version in Spore. Simply replace the entire console. Plus it have cup holder in the back!! You can do it by yourself, simple as 123. hehehehe

Whenever I add an accessory to my cars I always try and make them double duty. Why lose the whole console with all the features when you can easily make a custom fir armrest that can be removed in a second.

Here is the temporary armrest I made out of hard foam and a sofa arm cover.
I used the foam to kneel on when changing tires, etc. Bad knees.

The one I am making is going to be custom fit from higher sitting foam and a cover material I found in the tablecloth section of Wal-Mart. So I can't put my CD's in the slot, I wouldn't leave them in plain sight, anyway.

(Hope this link works, I just signed in today.) Pictures 3&4.

The only thing that I'm worried about is the auxillary audio jack in the front. Does the UK have that????

I only need one centre console. Already have my one piece leather finished one from Italy which is far better than the plastic/vinyl one out of S'pore. Besides the Italian one has a slide away cup holder in the storage box as well as the one behind the box. They also can do an embeded mobile holder in the arm rest.

I've talked to a few people that have bought that and they've said it wasn't that good....the armrest moves around in the cupholder and unless you screw it into place, it doesn't really hold.

Now, this is all second hand knowledge, but I emailed a few people that bought that console and that's what they told me....

I am nearly finished making my arm rest, all it cost me was $10 for the table runner material at Wal-Mart. The rest I had in my shop.

Here are a couple pics of the temp. and nearly finished arm rest.

Not sure about everyone else, but I always like to put my right arm up on something while driving. Granted, both hands should be on the wheel at all times, but who doesn't drive one handed here???

We definitely need more armrest options for the US model Fit. It's only been 2 days and my elbow looking for a place to rest.

I might try the Ebay one. Even if it moves around, it's better than nothing.

I have a folding and a non-folding armrest available. I will have both in about 1-2 weeks. What do you think?

Man.. you guys should ask Honda USA to bring in the OEM armrest! It might be a lil bit expensive but hey it worth every penny. Currently Indonesia dont sell those option but Spore does. So I purchase a set from Spore.

It's integrated into the centre console, so you have to replace the entire thing. I've ordered mine thru Honda UK and still waiting for it to come

I have that picture too. I just wanted to see if the Singapore armrest was any different. You are right in that the factory (US) console has to be replaced.

How long are you waiting for the item to come from Honda UK? What's the cost?

I've had my new Fit Sport for 2 days and I'm dying for an armrest! The last car I owned without one was a 1965 VW.

What is Spore?

If I'm reading it right, "Spore" = Singapore

How does someone from across the pond order from Honda UK?

I know they have it on the 2006 models.

Let us know when you get it if it works or not!
