Honda CA accessory prices suck!

Converted to US dollars from the Honda CA site:

Sport muffler = $573 USD
16" Alloy Pkg = $1142 USD

No offense, but I hope the Canadian accessory prices are jacked up like their cars' prices

Well, the prices of any accessory is usually way more when buying with the car. Usually it is cheaper if you get them from the parts dept instead. Sales marks up accesories so they can make money.

Exactly - and I'm sure everyone's had at least one dealer experience where a completely non-related aftermarket part has resulted (in the dealers eyes) with some completely unrelated problem that is now YOUR FAULT for that aftermarket item you added.

Accessories from the dealer are always overpriced.

In terms of voided warranties, as long as you are aware of your rights and the Magnussen-Moss Act you should be fine.

1. Accessories from the dealer are always overpriced.

2. You cannot try to estimate US price by converting foreign currency.

The accessory list that I got from my dealer were using a labour rate of $100 per hour....you should see some of the times!!

0.1 for installing a cargo mat!!!

Why not just purchase all of this in aftermarket form?

Why buy accessory from Dealers when you can get it aftermarket.
1. Because any accessory installed by the dealer when the car is purchased is covered by the warranty and;

2. Because not everyone's a mechanic. Those dealer prices include installation.

This maybe true. but all the bolt ons that the factory is offering is just the same as what you would have installed aftermarket.. Exhaust, Suspension, Wheels, Brakes, and Intake will not void the warranty. They are all parts that can show wear and tear over time and can be replaced

Dealers can void the warranty IF they can prove that the mechanic failure is a direct result of the aftermarket modification, as per the Magnuson-Moss Act.

I was once told by my dealer that when you buy the accessories and have them installed at initial purchase time, they are covered under your bumper-to-bumper warranty. When you add them on afterwards, they fall under their normal 12mo/12k mile warranty.

Hey there peeps! We have a member who claims that there is no height adjustable seats? wtf??? Although at 6'2" that could deter some other potential drivers. Does this segment have things like parascopic steering wheel and 6 way adjustable seats? Toyota?

I have been pricing out my fit on Honda.Ca and the price started running to high for the Sport which could put me up a segment in car class so I was left to start with an LX MT and only add 16" alloy options to look cool and a muffler garnish so I wasn't a girly man. How come lowering springs ain't offered from the factory? Doesn't matter I'ld slam her any ways within weeks.
