What are your 09 fit payments?
Im currently out of a job, hopefully not for too long but I keep seeing these little girls and boys, 16-17 years old driving 2009 Fits and I keep asking myself "how in the h*ll do they get the $$$ for this??"
I built a Fit Sport with nothing extra on Honda's website and with $0 down, the payment is $369.08 with 9% intrest... I put $3000 down and its $306... Now unless they are working just to pay for the car or there parents are helping them.... There must be something Im missing?
What are your payments & what was the price you paid for the car/ money you put down?
Thanks

" By using your own financing, you won't endure monthly payment scams, and the deal will be based on the selling price of the car, not monthly payments. If they start negotiating the car by monthly payment, it's time to leave. "
There are lots of links in that post to help get you on the right track to getting what you need. Solbrothers is right, it's about the final price.
You can check around for deals on financing, if you know the final price.
And it's not just the payments, but check on your INSURANCE too, see johnjk's thread for the variety of rates people pay:

Yes, you may see younger people with the cars. But as kingofpicklez says, living at home has it benefits. So the money that is earned can go to the payment and/or insurance.
Remember also that there is a big discount on multiple vehicles or multiple policies. Like my insurance company would give me a break on what I pay if I have another car, or a renter's or homeowner's policy.
So if you have a younger person living at home who has the car on the parent's heavily discounted group of policies, yeah, they can afford the car and the insurance.
And the younger folks are real smart in getting the FIT right off. That car should last them a good 10 years if they are careful. So they can put their future earnings into getting a home of their own or an apartment or continue their education.

mine was $333 a month now i have a S and its closer to $600 a month oh and i have my own apartment and still save $500 a month. But im 24 i should have stuck with the fit i could have saved another $300 a month.

I'd like to get mine under $300... I may wait a little longer and try to find a lightly used 09 Fit. ='/
Give's me more time to save I guess.
Ill talk to my parents, I'd rather have it in my name though, for credit purposes.

$17,500 OTD
$2,000 down payment
5.75% through Navy Federal Credit Union
$277 a month
As for the kids you see around, who cares? Someone half your age makes more money than you. It's going to get worse the older you get. No point in getting upset (jealous) about it.

I put 2k down. You're probably looking at my age too, but I pay for it myself as well as my apartment along with various other bills.
It really depends on your situation I believe.
