Honda Fit cleans up in Autoweek poll

AUTOWEEK POLL
Which one of the following small cars would you use as basic transportation?

Last place was Nissan Versa 13.4%, 3rd was Chevrolet Aveo 18.7%, 2nd was Toyota Yaris 21.3% and first place number one top dog with over twice a much as the Toyota, drumroll please.............................. Honda Fit 46.6%

It's nice to see that car nuts who are not necessarily Honda fans have what I consider the "common sense" to realize the Fit is the best of the group-- now all we need is Consumer Reports forthcoming comparison on reliability, etc to complete the accolades. (I sure hope they don't mind the gas tank placement, but with no reported incidents abroad that I'm aware of, they'll probably agree it's safe.)

Yes, I am anxiously awaiting the CR review of the Fit - specifically their gas mileage test as it is done the same for every car on a real road. This makes it easy to compare to other cars.

It will take quite a long time before Consumer Reports say much about long term reliability. They just will print "insufficient data" for now.

Since we don't even have Fits out on the road yet, where did the poll numbers come from?
