The US Fit is heavy enough as it is, adding 4WD would make it more expensive, slower, and less fuel efficient.
The Fit 4WD system in the JDM is like the CRV and only engages with a loss of traction detected. Most vehicles are available in a 4WD version in Japan. Currently no Honda sedans or wagons are sold in 4WD form outside Japan.
