Wiki'd ... 4WD?

hello everyone,

just ran across this and i haven't seen this on here yet so enjoy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Fit

also, has anyone seen/driven a gd4/4wd?

just wondering what the drive-train looks like, and how it functions? is it like cr-v?

Excellent site-- I had used wikipedia when researching my wife's Prius purchase last fall (great description of its CVT) but didn't think of wikipedia for the Fit. Thanks!

Wikipedia is where I found the info on the Honda Air Wave. Wrote to Honda U.S. HQ to find out if there were plans to bring it over any time soon -- or to produce a station wagon for North America -- nope!

4wd will add unneeded weight and cost. The drivetrain will also be more parasitic.

The US Fit is heavy enough as it is, adding 4WD would make it more expensive, slower, and less fuel efficient.

The Fit 4WD system in the JDM is like the CRV and only engages with a loss of traction detected. Most vehicles are available in a 4WD version in Japan. Currently no Honda sedans or wagons are sold in 4WD form outside Japan.

Adds weight and decreases fuel economy vs increased safety.
