I don't think it's just you, as I just noticed it this morning.

 

It's possible the proprietors of this forum entered into a non-disclosure agreement with Honda or whoever may have threatened some type of litigation for claiming official status. Maybe they felt it a small price to pay for continuing the forum in its current form aside from this status. If this theory has any basis, then the moderators here would have to agree to the non-disclosure if they are to remain as moderators.

Chances are we may never know the story behind this unless one of the mods breaks such a possible silence either out of ethics or or discontent.

Seriously, "unofficial" just means it isn't Honda's responsibility to monitor or otherwise control this site. We get to keep our own hall monitors, just like always.

 

Thats right. Further Honda could strong arm the forum into signing over ownership because 'Honda' and "Fit' are registered trade marks including the type style above.

Yamaha did just that on my snowmobile forum, although they didn't change a thing except they own the name of the forum now.
