Exclamation Fit up on the rack - question answered

Still don't have mine But got to see a red sport up on the rack at another local dealer -

Very clean underside considering, but most amazing is that I found out the function of the small plasticy material black cone under the spare wheel well.
Per the Honda Factory prep sheet parts ID it is a "reverse direction ground clearance indicator" - i.e. it will made a horrible large cone amplified scraping noise into the car via rear floor, if you back over something that has potential to come in contact with the gas filler lines underneath!

Also the car was up on the rack for about 15minutes and I walked about underneath with the tech pointing and talking. He then let it down and told me he had to shut it off! It was running for a delivery test the entire time and I didn't hear a freaking thing and not even a single tell tail exhaust shake.
It wasn't until I stuck my head under the hood that you could hear ANY engine noise - wow the L series engine is incredible smooth!

My Mom thought she could hear the engine when we stopped at a light. I wasn't sure what she was hearing but then I turned off the heater fan and she looked at me with these huge eyes and couldn't believe the engine was quieter than the fan!

wait until you've done 12,500 miles on it. The injectors will be louder. I can hear my engine quite loud now (maybe because I've done one too many high revving in it)

Are you using the VTEC engine?

half the time i have to look at the dask to make sure none of the lights are on that would be when you first start it up, that's how quiet and smooth this motor runs.

I wonder how much it weighs. Sounds like the first step in lightening (besides dieting).

I was referring to the cone-shaped "you're backing over a really big rock" indicator thingy.

The sport muffler is something I don't recall seeing in the accessory listings I have perused. Is it safe to assume Honda will be fleshing out the catalog with more and more tasty little bits. Center console is big on my list. Hopefully by December there will be a whole bunch of things for me to choose from.

here the pic from the brochure.

to me the muffler looks like the Spoon Sports muffler, not sure who makes it, but i honestly love it, and can't wait to get it installed.

Sounds romantic

Muffler looks good. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested to know if Honda claims any benefits besides looks (weight, hp, etc). Sound quantity and quality will also be important.

True, like i mentioned, i hope it sounds as good as it looks, adn the best thing is atleast this muffler will be covered under honda's lifetime muffler warranty for aslong as i own the car, so that's a bonus feature if you buy the Accy muffler at time of purchase.

Good point. I was thinking along the same lines. That's why I hope the accessory catalog is fat by December.
