Think I could pick up this chest freezer?

I need a chest freezer for all my frozen dog food! There's no way I want to pay $60 for delivery, so, do you think this freezer would fit in the back of my Fit?

I assume the dimensions listed below are the exterior of the freezer. Anyone know how big the box for a 5.3 cubic foot freezer might be?

Dimensions / Weight
Height 32.60" Width 29.33" Depth 22.05" Weight 84.88 lbs.

I would think it fits in there. I would assume the measurements are exterior measurements..
Can't you measure the fit interior?

OT: Do you feed your dogs raw? We have a frnch Mastiff/American Bulldog Mix and he gets raw meat and veggies...

Yah, our girl eats Bravo raw beef & lamb because she's allergic to poultry, but we just got a new boy who will hopefully eat ground chicken backs from the butcher ($18 for 30lbs--what a deal!)

Wow, that's really good. Milo eats ground beef for 1,89$/lb - and approx. 30 lbs a month...but it's worth it, he's healthy and happy.

Let us know if you could pick up th freezer chest - to me, the measurements seem like they're exterior and that's not too big for the Fit

yah I think the last i measured i had 60" behind the front seats, and 30" high and 42" inside the wheel wells. Or something around there. It's just awkward getting inside the hatch since it's funky shaped. Crossing my fingers that this will fit, new in the box, because I hate borrowing pickups.

+1 for raw food for pups. personally witnessed a dog (very friendly pit/lab) who became less gassy(!) and his coat became shiner w/ less fur loss.

no idea about the freezer tho, sorry

Don't start up the freezer for several hours after returning it to an upright position as the lube has to get back to the bearings. Yes it should fit in the Fit.

Re freezer: yah, fit no problems. It's basically the same dimensions as posted above, with a 2" tall cardboard bottom platform. No styrofoam on top, just slip the box on like a giant condom and some plastic straps around it haha.

We knew the part about letting the goop seep back into the compressor, heard it many times, from many sources. We asked the sales guy if we should wait, and he gave me this quizzical look and said it should be fine... we're waiting anyway!

Re dogs: raw food is the best! Our girl has these tiny little hard poops now, that don't stink, and disintegrate so quickly. My new dog was on "Dog Chow" (yech!) so I picked up a 5lb bag, just to keep his diet the same while he adjusted to our home. But he HATES the dog chow. He took to the raw lamb right away, hehe. Spoiled bastard!

If the Fit fits

I measured my 2009 Sport. Rear hatch trade space is either 26w x 30.5h or 31 w and 29h for roughly square boxes. Depth to seats is 55 inches with my setting, can go 63 inches but I'd only do that on the passenger side, too close for me.

So your cargo should easily Fit.

When I was a kid, we had a Doberman puppy who had gotten sick, stopped eating and was about to be taken to the vet or possibly die (back then the vet's office was closed on weekends, and this was a Saturday). My dad had been hunting with some cousins, and someone had killed a deer. The guys would usually divide anything they got, so my dad came home with a leg or something. He gave a little piece to the sick puppy, and the pup suddenly came around. He ate and ate the raw meat, and it saved his life. True story. Bambi died, Dutch lived.

Haha, that's funny

Being a vegetarian, it's kinda hard to buy several pounds of beef every month for the doggie. But when you see him chew on an ox tail with enthusiasm or beg you for a piece of you (cow) heart, you know it's worth it.

Milo was so skinny when we got him, but his weight went from 63 to about 80 lbs within weeks, and he's so shiny now! And the best thing, he does not smell like dog AT ALL. When you enter my house, you would never think big Milo lives there.

Back to topic, glad the chest fit in the Fit And pet your doggie for me
