2007 US Fit Driver's Side Dead Padal
2007 US Fit Driver's Side Dead Padal
Good Day All:
We will be manufacturing a dead pedal for the new Fit. Anyone willing to test our prototype? Please be advised that the pedal will be bolted to the floor. The mounting plate will then be covered by the floor mat. If you don't want to screw into your floor, you may want to take a pass on this. Pleas email/PM me if you are interested.
Thanks!

I just bought a US base Fit 5 speed, I take delivery tomorrow (Friday)....(hope I can sleep tonite).
An add-on armrest over the console would be easy enough. Many many years ago, I had a car that had such a thing, it was a simple enough design, it was an aftermarket option for the car (Citroen GS). It was the true arm rest with two metal wire loops that sat over the console and were flat where they touched the center tunnel of the car (where the exhaust is) between the console and the seat rails.
Once I get my Fit home, I can measure this up and come up with one that will work, if the space allows.
There is a caveat I wish to give however, there are several warnings about the Airbag operation and the passenger seat's sensors, so any design would need to consider this.... For the aftermarket maker this may = product liability if there was a problem with the bags.
From my past cars that had the dead pedal and what I have read, I may be interested in the dead pedal. Can you post/PM photos?

Normally, I would have been thrilled to test it, however, I am finding that the Fit is a bit small for me (legroom-wise) as it is. I miss a real dead pedal, but wouldn't be willing to give up even 1/2" of legroom for my left leg.
Is it safe to assume it would cause me to lose that valuable space?
The armrest will be a must...I see that it is on your site.
