Sport Exhaust Muffler Questions

How does the sport exhaust muffler different from the stock muffler?
(except they look different)
Is the sound from the muffler different?

True, but it's wise to get it at the time of purchase of the vehicle, then it'll seem alot less in the long run, since your paying for it over time, and you get to put it on right away while paying to own it, something like that.

Except then you're paying interest on the muffler, which is no good. I'd rather not pay that interest, as I can get higher returns on that money somewhere else. I can delay putting parts on if it means that I can invest the money I would have spent and end up with the ability to buy more parts.

My theory is though, hey it under warranty for 3 years or 36k miles, so interest might not be a bad thing after all, but again that's just my point of view.

True. Personally I'd rather invest it - GMAC 2-yr maturity bonds are looking verrrry nice right now

Does HFP Sports Muffler increase the horsepower of the fit?
I really want too listen the sound between the OEM and HFP Sports Muffler.
Can anyone that have a HFP Sports Muffler record the sound and post it on the web?
Thanks

I doubt that HFP muffler give any HP gain, it's just the muffler is different, not even a catback system, now if Greddy or HKS come out with a catback, I would bet my $$ on those quality aftermarket parts...hopefully we can have more options soon...I also wanted to see AEM spit out some CAI for Fit soon...

I'm curious about this too, but would wonder why Honda Factory Performance would put out a sport muffler with no HP gain.

Well, does the Civic HFP body kit make the car faster or handle better? No. HFP is about image, not performance.

If I had to give a benefit to having a 109hp motor and a curb weight of under 2500lbs, it would probably be that it doesnt take as much HP to be noticable as it would on a heavier higher powered car. So I would say anything about 5whp should be pretty noticable at 3500rpm and up.

which is why i can't wait to be able to either mod this motor, or just shoe horn a K20, or K25 into the engine bay.

Not even 1 HP...the whole system stays very restrictive, it's really about looks and that stainless factor..
