USDM vs JDM...whats the diff?

USDM vs JDM...whats the diff?

does anyone know what is the difference b/t a 1.5L USDM and JDM fit?
what is the USDM so much heavier?

iono there r so many different between the jdm one and the usdm. I just saw in japan u can get the awd fit ect... I'm so confused and stuff hahaha

They make it heavier because they need to reinforce it to withstand and impact from a big truck or SUV. Since trucks and SUV aren't so popular in Japan they don' need to reinforce it as much as they need to in America

makes perfect sense tho...damn, if only they could reinforce it without having to add several hundred lbs....bah

Doesn't the JDM Fit have the 1.4 i-DSi engine rather than the 1.5 VTEC?. Engine is much lighter. Also has different gearbox

peter, nah JDM has everything so they would have the 1.5VTEC.

The 1.4 isn't really a 1.4. They rebadged it as a 1.4 but technically it's a 1.3.

Don't think they do have the VTEC. AFAIK the i-DSi engine was developed specifically for the Jazz and was put into it from the moment it was sold - that would be in Japan.

japan has the iDSi 1.3 and the VTEC 1.5
your UKDM 1.4 is actually a 1.3. dont ask me why they marketed it that way
