I play mostly on Cake. My brother is a pro on all the big sites though... not going to say who, but he's in the top 35 worldwide online.

Something isn't right in online poker these days. If you play on most major rooms, including PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, you either have an unfair advantage or many of your opponents have an unfair advantage over you. I know you don't like the sound of that, but it's true. The top nine poker networks all have the same problem, with the Cake Poker Network being the largest to mostly avoid this issue.

The major rooms and networks have put themselves in a very unpleasant position where they have outlawed things they cannot prevent from happening. Poker-Edge is a prime example. According the Terms and Conditions of PokerStars and Full Tilt, this software is strictly prohibited. You can't play on the site without agreeing to their rules and since Poker-Edge is against the rules, you are breaking them if you use it. By the very definition of the word, the use of Poker-Edge on PokerStars is cheating. If you aren't using it, then you are being cheated because many opponents are using it against you.

I've played at a Casino in Oklahoma for a while but just recently got into online. Put in a $75 deposit two weeks ago and have it up to about $750 currently. I'll be able to by my turbo kit soon

However, PokerTracker is allowed and many others similar to it are allowed - the ones that aren't allowed you're not going to want to use because the major sites can detect them and ban you. Cake Poker is nice since they don't allow any 3rd party programs to aid you - just yourself and usually a ton of fish, but as a result not too many people play there and it's hard to find good tournaments.

Not others, but it keeps a good record of what tournaments you played, what buyin, how much you won (or lost), etc etc. It's a good record keeper to go and look at your progress, also handy for tax season if you play enough.

I started out playing on Full Tilt for fun, got pretty decent at multi-tables but too many people just go afk and win out there while I end up going out earlier because I'm still playing. Their freerolls are a crazy hours long grind against 7499 other players and you have to sign up an hour in advance. I mainly play freerolls on Absolute Poker nowadays because there's less players (usually under 4000), more freerolls held, and there's always a spot open till the last minute before tourney starts. I got to 3rd place once, but I had to go before it was over.

So what happened to your $750?

I'm pretty close to TCC and NRH2O.Yeah I dropped by that tournament but wasn't sure which name you were. But it looks like you're going to get a lot of cash.

I almost want to try real money games, but if poker has taught me anything, it's to analyze financial risk and online poker just seems WAY too risky to me.

Finished 2 out of 783, making $300. Not bad for a $3.30 buy-in.
