Average Fillup cost

Hi Fit Freakers,

Just out of interest....on our Honda Fit this year so far.....we have had 19 fillups of gasoline.....and the average cost of them is $16.14.

This is awesome.....reminds me of the very old days when you had service, and you would say 'Fillerup', and then hand the guy a 20, and actually get some change.

The Fit is super. I know we do not do as many miles as others, but post your average if you can.

My last fill up was in the $16 range as well. Ain't it great?! Sure is a nice change from when I would "stop" on $50 filling the Lincoln!

And since you mentioned "old school gas stations", here's a pic I took of a gas station I found when out riding my motorcycle. I wish I had zoomed in on the price/per gallon.....but it was in the 20 cent range!

Note how there was no parking lot. The pumps were on the edge of the street and one would just have to partially block the lane while filling up!!

When I put in around 7.5 to 8.5 gallons I pay under 19 dollars every single time. Puts a smile on my face that I'm paying so little to fill up my car....

Great Picture, HogWylde,

Thanks for all the posts. Something many people do not realize, but here in New Mexico and many parts of the southwest....regular gas is just 86 Octane. The Fit runs perfectly on that.

As far as I can tell...and it has been discussed many times on here.....there is no use in putting in a higher grade of gas....it will not run any better.

Gas is around $3.00 a gallon locally, so no under $20.00 fill ups on an empty tank here:
San Francisco Gas Prices - Find Cheap Gas Prices in California

Last time I put in gas, I did a twenty and hoped it would fill 'er up. It was close, and I had gas. But still, not quite full.

I filled up in Santa Fe yesterday at 2.39.9. That is the best I have seen in some time.

I know the west coast pays more, and often the southeast has the cheapest gas available.

We are still better off than most other countries around the globe.

It just cost me $30 to fill up. Gas in Socal is still $3.00+/gallon. I guess that's proof that you pay more for everything to live in this state.

Usually about eight gallons at $2.40 or so. Gas in our county is a nickel or so higher than anywhere else around here.

Cheers.

I regularly spend about PhP1300 on fuel - roughly US$27. This isn't on an empty tank though, there's just about less than 1/8 left. I cane my GD regularly but it's doing pretty good sipping fuel.

Around here the fillup goes for around US$ 2 for one litre of 95 octan fuel

This year it has been as high as US$ 2.3/litre and has been at a record low US$1.56/litre. But the average is US$2/litre...

Yes, I know it is a "bit" expensive
But then again, an average income is around US$ 52K a year, and I'm more to the US$ 70K a year range...

It's nice to hear from other Fit owners around the World. Americans can become pretty isolated in their thinking......and seeing gasoline for $2/litre certainly changes one's view of the prices here.

Pres. Obama is certainly of the mindset that gasoline will not continue to be cheap....in the long term. Which I am sure will be true. So driving a car like the Honda Fit is not only smart today, but will be even smarter when the prices start going up, up, and up.

Besides that, the car is just fun to drive!
