~~~ Official Fit Invoice Price ~~~
According to Edmunds.com as of today:
US
List Invoice Margin
Base MT $13,850 $13,272 $578
Base AT $14,650 $14,036 $614
Sport MT $15,170 $14,533 $637
Sport AT $15,970 $15,297 $673
Canadian (Approximated based on US Margin)
List Invoice Margin
LX MT $17,180 $16,463 $717
LX AT $18,380 $17,610 $770
Sport MT $19,480 $18,662 $818
Sport AT $20,780 $19,904 $876
As you can see, us Canadians get ripped off royally by Honda Canada. Our pricing is way off compared to the US. We pay 13-18% more for essentially the same car.
It all depends upon which model (Base/Sport for US and DX/LX/Sport for Canada) and transmission (manual or Auto) you have, whether or not you paid a good price.
You paid MSRP + Destination (if you got a mt sport) i think that pretty good. I cant find one that cheap here in AZ.
As for the prices in the first post there almost identical to the prices i got from my bank.
Now we know the mark up. I see why a dealer would put another $1000 on top if not more.
hoo boy!
after trying with every dealer in my area to get one for MSRP I think I may have to offer over . I have had some frustrating phone conversations with unpleasant salespeople who want $2K over list. I'll put them in the 'opportunistic' collumn and won't be heading there for service or parts. I'm already writing my letter to Honda North America in my head.
I'm told that Honda lowered the list price in order to compete with Scion, Yaris, etc. Not sure if there's any truth to that, but the source works at Honda.
I was upset that I could not get anybody to come off of list price!
I am in Chicago and I test drove a Base manual with my wife. We both fell in love with it, but she needed an automatic, so we decided on a base model with automatic. MSRP of $15,200 including destination. After calling around and getting some internet quotes, The best I could find was a dealer that would deal at all after some intense phone hagling, "I will have to talk to my manager!" (most said MSRP, and some added a bunch of $$$$ making options like $1000 for rust proofing!), I got a price of $15,100.
After placing my order (giving them a credit card number for a deposit of $200), he was going over the fees and said there was a $50 "DOC" fee. I told him that was not the deal, and I wanted the $50 off. Back to the manager again! He comes back on the phone and says that the manager would not let him do it. I told him thanks anyway, but I will just try another dealership. "Wait one minute! Let me talk to him one more time and tell him that you are adament about it!" He comes back on and says "Congrats! You just got the best deal on one of these we have ever given!"
Looks like I will have to wait about 5 weeks for the one I want, but after hearing the horror stories about people paying up to $2,000 over list, I consider myself very lucky! After tax and title, $16,200 out the door, no hidden fees, no overpriced add ons!
