Is this your first car/first manual car?
Been driving mostly manuals since ~1959 - except when I was married to a woman who wouldn't and couldn't drive a stick and we could barely afford one car.
I reckon the Fit (when it's delivered) will be my 5th stick.
Oh - I forgot one - so it will be #6.
And all my motorcycles have been manual

My fit (manual sport, when it arrives) will be only my second new car, but I've had many manuals. My first car was a 1980 Civic, manual. I've also had a manual Tercel, manual Accord, and manual Corolla. Our minivan is of course an automatic.

The Fit is car #6 for me and my 4th manual transmission.
It is probably the smoothest shifting m/t that I have owned. The other 3 were a Nissan Sentra, Honda Civic, and Toyota Tacoma. The only other m/t that was close to it in refinement was the Civic.

First *NEW* car, and first car I actually chose!
I tried to learn MT on my friends escort. We got one lesson down, and I was doing fairly well, then it died! My main thing was not believing I was in the propper gear, the bag over the stick made me doubt my positioning. I've seen cars that have a very absolute no bag this is the gear you are in and there is no doubts about it.
If I could get over that, I'd go MT.
