What have you changed to mak your car more livable?
What have you changed to mak your car more livable?
Not appearance or performance necessarily, but minor changes to bring it up to, perhaps, a level of function from a previous ride?
In my case:
-Modifying the mount of the accelerator pedal to make more right leg room
-Reshaping the mounting hardware on the armrest to bring to bring it lower in the "down" position, as I tend to lean the seat back a good ways to make up for the somewhat limited seat travel.
- cutting up a set of old floormats to make inserts for the cupholders and cubbies so change and loose items don't rattle about.
-using a larger section of a rubber floormats to make a custom cut rubbe liner for the glovebox, again so junk doesn't rattle about.
-Windshield mounted, solar-powered Bluetooth speakerphone (never needs the power cable, charges in the sunlight)
so, overall, not much. It's not terribly upscale inside, with lots of hard plastic and minimalist details, but that's expected in a cheap car, and it's way more refined than my Element was - in a way, it reminds me of a lower, 4/5th scale version of my '01 CR-V.

- Recaro SRD seats from a DC2 Integra Type R. The added lumbar, knee and thigh support is a great help on long journeys.
- 3M Nomad mats. Simple looking and easy to maintain. My girlfriend likes their "carpet" feel on her bare feet too.
- White CCFL footwell lighting. Just to help locate items that may have fallen into the dark footwells.
- 10-LED interior light mat for the ceiling. The stock bulb is too dim - more of a mood light than anything else.
- I also cut a few non-slip plastic mats and fit them into the bottom of the center console and the glovebox so the contents don't slip, slide or rattle while the car's in motion.
Later on I'm thinking of adding Carbing Dash pedals. My pedals' stock rubber tops are starting to wear down, and the Carbing items make heel-and-toe easier.

Dead pedal (delivered to my house the day before I bought the car LOL) arm rest, which i couldn't live without, satellite radio, broadway rearview mirror, exterior spot mirrors (not having to deal with blind spots FTW! HID foglights (seeing deer before they see me FTMFW....
Burl dash kit, carpet, LED lights all around (blue), electronic throttle control to go faster, Razo pedals and dead, light in glove box, volt, temp in/out, lap timer, humidity, and barometric pressure gauges, 16" antenna for needed radio recieption, door sills, center arm rest, Ipod, tinted metal film, pass. side mirrored visor, red dot on shifter handle..... now that I'm writing all this down I'm think'n my bride is right I'm obsessed with this car!!!

yeah I wanna know what I should fix up in my Fit also. I just got my license in December and I got my Fit the same month :)
But what can I get with a very low budget considering I don't have a job? (and I don't think my dad wants to pay to fix up my car and make it look all racer-like) xD
I'm saving up for a spoiler but it's going to take several weeks (maybe a couple months) till I have the money lol D: BUT MY BIRTHDAY IS COMING UP IN 2 MONTHS, WHAT SHOULD I ASK FOR?? :D Rims? Windows tinted? Change the Honda emblem? Get some cool lights installed? I DUNNO HELP ME DECIDE!

I bought the Cargo Tray, OEM All Season floor mats and Cargo cover and that's about it. I do not plan on improving the appearance anytime soon or will probably not. Maybe I will buy the JDM center console in the future. I'm looking more into convenience in my Fit.
The Fit is definitely one car that needs window tinting because the sun's heat just gets in at every angle.
Even just plain 3M Black Chrome BC35 film all around will suffice. It's not dark at all, which is a consideration for me since I hate having to roll down my windows at night in dark places just to see better.
