Quick Question for everyone.

Hello, i am about to buy a certified preowned fit, and am wondering if it is a decent deal? It is an 09 with 25k, honda certified, manual with nav, for 16k.

Does this seem decent? Or too much?

I have always had fast imports(wrx's, evos, etc) and am picking this up for a daily driver, and am hoping i wont be dissapointed. Is everyone fairly happy with their fit?

I just feel more comfortable buying a fit, then a swapped Ek hatch/em1, in terms of getting my money back out of it in a few years, after i put 50+k on it.

Thanks for any help, and words of encouragement..

I got my 2010 for about 16500.
Without navigation tho.
I'd buy a new one. Finding a manual might prove to be difficult. If You take your time and you're willing to travel you can find one. As far as the navigation, I'd prefer getting a nice pioneer unit

They don't make the '10 with nav, in manual.

I really do like integrated nav, even though i can buy something after market, i feel like cars with nav are more desirable, but if i can get a good deal on a new one ill do that.

I test drove an '10 today. Sticker was 17k, i feel like i can def. work them down a bit. I am going to stop in, before i head up to the other dealer, and see what my bottom line would be on a new one.

The thing is i have a trade(which i own) and the other dealer with the certified used car, is actually giving me good money for it, and pretty much on par with the private offers i am getting.

Yea.. no navigation for manuals anymore. .
Personally the price of the nav option doesn't appeal to me. I like sound quality, and just simply installing a new radio sounds so much better.

As far as the trade, I'd try to get the other dealer to match it.. good luck!

Just remember, nothing like a new car.

I will see what sort of deal they will work me on the new one, and if i can get the 7/100k warranty. I would really want to get it for 15-15.5 to make it worth it to me.

Does anyone know what invoice is on a 5mt, sport?

Does the OEM ipod conector work with the pioneer, or do i need to buy pioneer's adapter? Just curious.

Nada says invoice is 15,8 on an 10'. Clean trade in on the 09 is 14.4, retail 17,200.

I will stop off at the dealer where i test drove the '10, and see what they will do for me.. I will tell them straight up, that i am on my way to pick up another car, if they don't offer me the price i need.

Are you trading in a car, on a used car there is about a 3000 mark up plus they spend about 650 dollars or more in restoration. $200 cleanup of car, oil change, filters, wipers and any maintenance that was not done. The only problem is that on a new car they will only sell the car sticker price because I believe the Fit still comes from Japan and the price is not negotiable but a trade-in is.

Certified used car means they added the restoration in the car price. I think you could get that car for 15000 or less good luck

I pretty much hit a wall on the 09, and that was the best i could do.

On the '10 the guy seemed to want to negotiate today, while i was in there, so we will see.

The 09 with nav is basically going to cost me 2500, i think if i can get the new one for that, in white, i would do the new.

You guys really have me rethinking the 09/nav. I think if i can get the other dealer to match my price of 2500 out of pocket(with my trade) i will opt for a new one, and spend the 1k on a nav.

The only thing i like about the 09 is the warranty, but its a honda after all, right? lol

You don't just get the Nav with the 09 ... you also get VSA if it has the Nav.

The fact that this is a manual with nav makes this a rare model since they didn't offer that option for 2010.

You have to wait till 2012 models for non-nav models to get the VSA, assuming you're in the US.

It sounds like a half decent deal to me.

Lol Yes it is a Honda =]
as far as the extended warranty, if you get the new fit, most dealers will give you 12 months to decide If you want it.

I would think if you changed the head unit, the USB would still work.

You would most likely be wrong then. The USB has a special adapter which plugs into the HU. It is unlikely that a 3rd party HU has the same sort of adapter. You may be able to splice/jury-rig the current adapter to somehow connect to the new HU, but it would require some knowledge, and some work.

That was my line of thinking. I was hoping that would help resale value.

My main goal is to get something that in 2-3 years i can still get a decent price for.

It is a huge downgrade for me, from my current vehicle, but it is really the practical thing to do.

It seems like fits are more expensive out west(used). Most of the private party sales, are so close to a NEW car, it doesn't even pay to buy it used, other then you save the tax, doc, etc.

Thanks for the input. I will see what i can do, for sure.

Ideally ill walk away with a new '10 with no nav, for 1k cheaper out of pocket, and then buy the pioneer..lol

Well i went to the dealer with the new one and told him what i needed to pay, and we got close, but it was still going to be a bit more. He was surprised that the other dealer had offered me so much for my trade, and worked out the deal he did.

So i went to the dealer with the 09/nav, and bought it. I left my wife there, while i went to take care of some things, and when the financial guy was going over the papers, he told her the salesman had made a mistake, and beside giving me too much for my trade, also forgot to include something else in the price. In the end they honored their price, and i am happy. I walked out of there with the car for $2500.

It is a big "downgrade" in a sense from my fully loaded Titan, but in another sense it is much more economical. The titan was pushing 75k, and i was afraid in a year or two at the rate i drive, it would be worth shit. Not to mention the $40+ a week i will save on gas.

I am already looking at mods..lol I have a problem, you might say. I really need to at least lower it, asap, for starters
