Honda Jazz pulling full size travel trailer
Honda Jazz pulling full size travel trailer
Hi Fit Freakers,
I just got back from 3 weeks in Europe. Not that many Honda Jazz there at all...mostly German cars, plus some French and a few Italian. I started in Berlin...possible the cheapest city to visit in Europe. Food, beer, and lodging very reasonable.
Then we went to Slovenia (small country east of Italy). Although very old in History....it was very modern in almost every other way. We used a car service...very common over there...to travel from one country to another. While driving (we were passengers) along the autoroute in Slovenia....in a Peugeot diesel 8-passenger van (at 150 kph), we passed a Honda Jazz with a family of 4 in it...pulling a full sized travel trailer (about 20 ft long)....and moving along easily about 100 kph. This really shocked me, as most cars pulling trailers there were diesels....the Jazz is not.
BTW, the Honda Jazz looks big over there....compared to many other cars.

nmfit Great report, thanks.
It's reassuring to know that, in other places, people really extend the service of their FIT's.
Not sure I would suggest pulling a 20 footer, but I do have a sweat 4x6 that will soon be hooked to the back of mine.
I've also seen some nice set-ups with two kayaks on a trailer. Great for camping excursions. Balance the tongue weight at or around 50# and over all weight below 500# and it should work out fine, no?

Hi guys,
It seems that I was not the first to see such a sight in Europe. Have a look at these other posts.

Back in the '60's I used to pull a 1500 lb (loaded) popup trailer with a VW bug...only 1200 cc's. It was not recommended, and I did not set any speed records....but I never had a problem.
We travelled from Ontario through the small mountains in Vermont, etc...on the way to PEI.
We did it several times.
