The Fit wave! ^_^
The Fit wave! ^_^
Just thought I'd share a little bright spot that happened at the end of a pretty long Monday - I had just left work and I was so zonked. I pulled up to a red light and what should zip up behind me - but another BBP Fit!
I couldn't really see who was driving it because they had mirror tint but he beeped and opened his window a bit and stuck his hand out to wave at me and I waved back. I've seen a lot of other Fits on the road but that was my first Fit wave! It made me smile and wonder whether it was someone on the board lol.

I have owned quite a few cars and the only car that I get waves back in is my S2000 CR. People in other S2000's actually turn around to talk with me. It takes 10 minutes to fill my tank at the gas station if there is another S2000 there...
I tried waving in my other cars but I think the car has to be kind of a cult car for the wave to be acceptable. Even in my M3 no one waved, but most M3 drivers are either older are just plan @sshats.
My friend always waves to Minis in his Cooper S and he probably has a 75% return wave rate which is pretty good I suppose considering how many there are in Atlanta.

Considering this was in the middle of Manhattan, I'm surprised I got a wave at all. At first I was like, wait a minute what are you beeping at, it's a red light buddy! LMAO. But when I noticed it was another BBP Fit who was waving at me, I lightened right up. It was just a fun moment. Need those after long hours on a Monday.
haha that's pretty cool. There are a few different Fits around where I live, but they are all older and in completely stock Fits lol.
However, there was this one time a couple weeks back when I pulled into a store parking lot and saw an 08 VBP Fit sport with tint so I pulled up and parked beside it. When I came out of the store, the owner was there and we talked for about 10 minutes about how much he liked the new design of the GE's as opposed to his gd.
He commented on my OEM visors and how different the interior looked, especially with my mugen pedals hehe. Was a pretty good little chat and brightened my day a bit

Seriously I've seen couple of fits and never got a single wave. I mean I'm not expecting it and I don't have plans on waving back. Haha.. I find it silly, imagine if you're driving a corolla and another corolla driver started waving at you. What would you think?
I forgot when, but there was one time (a long time ago) another drive and I actually waved to each other. It was the damnedest thing too, I never wave.
It was like, in that single wave was: "Yeah, how you doing? Good, good. See ya around." Bizarre, I tell ya, that I understood that. HAHA.
I keep wanting to wave at other Fit drivers, but most look like they could care less about any driver, let alone fellow Fit driver.
Actually, earlier today (and a couple of weeks ago), I thought about a game. Well, what I thought about today was different from a couple weeks ago.
A couple of weeks ago, I thought about having each participant get a bundle of "FitFreak" stickers, with each person having their own unique color or some other identifier and they can't be too big (we'd run out of room too fast). And if we see a Fit out there with a sticker that indicates they're playing the game, then we put our sticker on it. And we'll try to leave those not playing the game, well enough alone.
As for today, I thought about static stickers. Basically, its just those stickers that use static to stick onto to surfaces instead of adhesives. And it would be similar, but not really a game. Find a Fit, and "say hi" with the static sticker. And if they really are unappreciative of it, then they can take the static sticker off without any damage to the car. These static stickers can be anything, I was thinking of a big "HI" or one of those smiley faces. If the drivers are appreciative about it, they can put it on the inside of the glass.
OOH, how about another game... a "tag, your it" game. One person out there starts with a static sticker. Whenever they travel out of the city they live/work in... they put the sticker on a Fit they come across. If you don't travel often, try to take a short weekend trip somewhere (neighboring city?). Here's the rub... just like the two previous "games," there will be someone that doesn't want to play, so if the sticker lands on them, it'll end. So, to keep track, each time you leave the sticker on someone's Fit, you post in a thread set up for the game, so everyone can see where the sticker travels. I recommend not posting too much info, maybe just the city you got it and where you left it. Which reminds me of this book my niece had (and a movie, I think), "Sisterhood of the traveling pants."

me and my gf parked at our local mall and we came out to another fit that had parked next to us and he left a note on my gfs 07 SSM saying he liked our fit and wanted to set up a meet, i know the person is on this forum but this is before either of us were active members(and before i had a fit of my own). so if youre out there....YO!

. No offense intended to other owners.
Black01 I suffered the same affliction, decided to find a better way. No more puppy love_
Get yourself one of these Stebel Compact Nautilus ...
... I give a gentle toot, that's all.
It's an authentic Italian air horn, distinct sound and not at all embarrassing. A good head turner and at highway speed will always be heard.

I usually flash my fogs and wave occasionally. Never get anything back. :/ the only other guy on the boards where i live just sold his fit. So now the closest members are in south florida i think.... no fit love in PC
I got waved at by a fellow Fit owner, in fact another SSM GE8 Fit.
Though I wonder if it was more because I pulled over to allow him to pass (parked cars prevent cars from passing in opposite directions without some one "giving way") than the fact we both had Fits.
But, considering how enthusiastic the wave seemed, I guess being thankful only added to the "Yo Fit dude" wave.
I did my "courteous" small wave before he did his (I wasn't expecting a wave back), hope he noticed and didn't think I was being rude or anything.
