scion xB trade in
scion xB trade in
so I'm really, really impressed with this Honda Fit. I've been in it twice and test drove it once and I can't believe how ****ing in love I am with this car. I went to kbb.com (kelley blue book) and found out that my trade-in value (I set the interior condition to fair even though it's close to excellent) is around 12k for an '04 scion xB.
before the Fit, I was looking at trading it in for the new Subaru Impreza's but that car is a bunch of bullshit and I was so disappointed in pretty much everything.
anyway... what does everyone think about getting a Fit instead of paying off the scion? I'm not even sure how much I'll get ****ed in regards to payments but I almost don't even care because I'm so impressed with the Fit.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Like you, I'm so in love with the fit. I can't even begin looking to buy one until august or september, but I've read anything about it I can get my hands on, including the owners manual and service manuals.
the interior was horribly generic, not enough cargo space, and the AWD ate up all the horsepower. so disappointing since the car looks so freaking good. i just hated to see the interior look like a domestic car and just the whole feel of it i guess i wasn't used to since i drive an icebox pretty much.

What's wrong with the xB? What are the pros and cons? I've always liked them in a funky sort of way when they first came out and was seriously considering getting one as a DD/beater. If I were you and you didn't like the Impreza, consider looking into the Forester. My gf bought one for her mom. For the price, it's very nice and roomy (love the panoramic moonroof) and gets good gas mileage. I would have bought one instead of the Fit but I wanted to be different. Plus we can borrow the Forester whenever she wants.

I love my fit. I love it since I got it. I never got disappointed w/ anything so far. small things like Lack of dead pedal or lever-open gas cover don't bother me cuz the car is too good.
The xB is really an amazing car, i think its one of the better designed cars out there. Inside and out everything is distintive about it, and you'll never miss it going down the road. The Fit actually has more HP by like 3-4 tops, but HP to eco-car drivers is about as important as spare change to Bill Gates. I personally never understood the big draw of fast cars. They always seem to break, eat to much gas, and pump out way to many emissions into the air. It just seems irresponsible to have one as well as pointless. Anyhoo kara sell your xB and get a Fit so we can take another road trip :-D
well I guess im qualified to answer this one :P....I just traded my 05 box in for a new Fit and im loving it. Dont regret it one bit. The Fit is so much more fun to drive. One advantage I have though is my girlfriend has an xB so its almost like I still have one but I have a new Fit as well. So im getting the best of both worlds! But in the end I advise to just do it...its a great car. You can look at my sig for my box. Good luck on your decision....

Must be the new car smell....
Very addicting isn't it?

i'm soo excited to back to the honda dealer and play with the fit haha.
Yeah, do it. I had an 05' Polar White xB which I loved, but the Fit really outshines it in handling and performance, which is what I care about the most. Getting better mileage and a sweet interior is just icing on the cake. My payment went up $30 from what I was paying on the xB and insurance only slightly more than the xB's, so I have no regrets.

the main thing lacking in the fit for me is power. the 2006 civic has better power/weight than the fit, and the civic is nearly as efficient mpg wise. and the interior quality is tons better.
Scion xB & Fit
I copied this comment from a Forum member about the Scion xB:
"I own a Scion xB. By now, you must know the wind buffeting problems with the car at high speeds. The car body rides low to the ground which leaves it vulnerable to a lot more dings and scrapes. The air conditioning is the worse feature as it is subpar. (If anyone knows a way to juice up the a/c please let me know.) The car feels made of cheap materials and the car panels on the outside, unsnap and get out of alignment easily; in fact within days of owning. My car has a huge sideswipe scrape, the back latch is broken, lots of dings and scractches and the back door has already been replaced from a fender bender. Most of the damage occurs on the lower end of the car. I'm just surprised how flimsy the parts are that make up the body; they are light and feel plasticy when you push on them, (but, hey, maybe this is normal for cars nowadays.) I just can't imagine what it will look like in three years-bleh"
As for the recommendation of a Forester: Just before I found out about the Fit, I was looking at used Foresters. test drove one, and asked the salesman to call me if he found one a little newer. I wasn't planning on buying a new car. The Forester is nice, but I was surprised at how much wind noise it has, and the gas mileage isn't very good. If the Fit is the right car for you, you know it!

wow! i knew there was something wrong with my car hhaha. yea, the xb gets a bit shaky at high speeds. it's a box, what can i say? ahaha.. when i first got it my friends and i noticed that the body near my front right wheel was a little flimsy... it got fixed but i mean. brand new? it does feel a little plasticy.. i knew something weird was up with it. also... a piece of my grill mysteriously fallen (possibly stolen?) off when it was about 5 mos. old. i found it a little strange when i saw more and more xB's with the same exact piece missing. i haven't made a move to call my dealer and ask for a replacement as i'm sure they're going to make me buy a whole new grill and not just that single piece. anyway... i can't WAIT to buy the fit. i'm hoping someone will pick up my xB soon hehe. it's got almost 33k miles on it and it's an '04. i drive a lotttt.
