dang.. stolen front lip

8/6/10 between 4-6pm my front lip got stolen at Woodfield Mall at the top of the Macy's parking garage. Once I got back to my church I noticed my front bumper popped out, looked down and saw my lip was jacked

I know they fit on ek hatches and si's pretty well..

Check with security and see if the Fit was covered by a camera? If so maybe the theif can be seen in the act and which vehicle he left in.

I priced a new front GD3 lip @ the dealer and it was 300.00 there is one good thing it comes painted.

Looking on Ebay (Honda Fit Front Lip) and there are some urathane lips shipped in a flat box to your door for 48.00 but then it has to be painted and that's 100.00 and the used ones are jjjjunk I don't even understand why they'er there. The urathane one I was looking at has 2 cutouts molded in the front to look like the Mugen lip! GL brother

08fithappy - Yes time to upgrade. I've been looking at a mugen rep front lip off ebay for $148 But yeah i'm not going with an insurance claim for a little thing like this. At least my wheels weren't stolen lol.

perrenoud & esamson - Yeah i went to the mall security today, talked to the guard, explained what happened, and he said i gotta file a report to the schaumburg police dept. and it has to go through court and a subpoena(?) JUST to look at the video..

But yeah i'm looking at that mugen looking lip off ebay! thanks for the suggestions

wow that sucks, i guess the camras are only there to protect their own property not anyone elses. Thanks for the reminder to stay away from scumberg. sorry you had this happen to you. if it makes you feel any better I had to get rid of my 2000 blue si, after it had the wheels stolen off of it once, whole car stolen and partly stripped twice and then recovered and then stripped in the parking lot at my apt. and i live in a nice neigborhood.

I never park in the garage... nobody parks in the garage at Woodfield or any mall if you have something that is theft-prone in/on your car. Park outdoor and afar from other cars... isolate. This will give your car a good view to parking lot security cameras.

But gawdamn... a FIT with factory accessory? now that's low... who would have expected? I'm tellin you... thieves are all over. I'll ask around...

hum... would it be possible to run into or over something to get it snagged? and then yanked off?

When I still had my Mirage in San Diego, I parked over those cement parking "stoppers" (the ones they put so you can't pull too far forward into another spot)... it turned out, it had a piece of rebar sticking up and got behind my front bumper... as I was backing up it tried to pull off my bumper!

it's pretty thin plastic, so I assume that if you ran over it, you might not even notice it, thinking it was just a crack in the road.

That's really sad. I would expect that to happen in Gurnee, but not Schaumburg. Guess a**holes are everywhere though.

Yeah.. at least i still have my whole car lol. but still... kinda bogus!

@airwicc, My friend's, friend's ITR got stolen last month and he lives on the other side of town. That sucks even more! I guess theyre far out here too in the NW suburbs. So i'd rather they get they're hands chopped off or something than steal anything at all lol.
