Going to the Philippines, what parts should I grab?

I'm headed to the Philippines for a few weeks for a wedding. I was just wondering what sort of things would be available there that people would want? Looking for smaller items to fit in a suitcase (ie no rotas!)

I figure the red dot Jazz emblem is popular....anything else? Badges, trim, etc?

That is going to be fun! I talked to a guy who was in the Phillipines recently and he said there were Fits/Jazz all over the place and all he saw were heavily modified. I was at a local car show and he was telling me about some the Fits he had seen.

When I was in Thailand I snagged a factory-painted, modulo spoiler from the Honda dealership.

I had a hard time getting the Taxi driver to understand me, but was finally able to communicate "modify shop" and went to a really neat tuner shop. I picked up some JDM headlights for my 2004 civic as well as a JDM grill. I just had everything mailed back. Our luggage was stuffed with other goodies...

If it's just stuff that'll fit in a suitcase, all I can think of are emblems, stickers, horn units, starter buttons, plug-in voltmeters, auxiliary gauges, and maybe a strut bar or two.

Most "mods" on Jazzes here are of the cosmetic variety really...not much in the way of function. If that's your kind of thing, then by all means.

I think your money would be best spent on a proper horn. If you're into JDM stuff Mitsuba's horns are popular (albeit pricey like-for-like). Mitsubas would be worth the trip, I don't think there are a lot of places in the US that sell them. Pilot's electrical gizmos, such as their aforementioned starter buttons and shift lights, would also be a good haul for the trip.

My two cents

By the way where in the Philippines will you be staying? Parts availability would depend a lot on where you decide to stay.

OP- wrong country. JDM stands for Japan Domestic Market, not Phillipino Domestic Market.

The whole point is it's cheaper to get JDM parts on the other side of the world where the exchange rate is more favorable. I was responding to Kenchan's post...

Yes you can find JDM anywhere over in Asia - I can't imagine how crazy I would go in an import tuner shop.

Burshed Blue dot Jazz emblem

Can you get a brushed aluminum blue dot jazz emblem there? I already have a chrome one--would like this version.

Part number = 75722-SAA-Q01

Dude got one and a barrel woman too chilling by the computer.

THanks for all the replies guys I will look into it and do my best when I'm there.

I will be staying Paranaque in Metro Manila, but we've got a car so we can go pretty much anywhere in the city.

It is a little more expensive to buy JDM parts from Asia due to the exchange rate, for instance $1 = THB 30.230 now which used to be $1 = THB 38 or THB 34.
