Jus' had the same type of problem....don't fret. One of our wonderful readers (can't find his reply) suggested that I jack-up the front end of my car (tires are off the ground) while the engine (running) is still {cold} remove the radiator cap, turn heater on high and the air bubbles with rise to the top and dissapate...yeah I know that sounds strange, however; I did it and the problem has been gone ever since. You will have to have extra coolant to refill to normal level after the air is all out. Hope it helps!

Well, mine has about the same mileage as yours and the jac'd-up thingie worked jus fine for my car
I hope like h@%$ that your head gasket is not blown.... I would think that their would be other problems associated with the blown gasket within your car....but u say it's still running fine.

burped up a bubble of air. No harm done to your engine. Quite often common in cooling systems.

Sad to hear that news....whatever the diagnoses is found out to be please let me-and the community know for future reference.

Since I {had} that same problem I'm beginning to think that jus' maybe I could have incurred some internal engine damages as well.

How so?? A bubble in the cooling system tells me the water pump is pumping at the low end of a curve.

Seriously doubt you have a problem, simply keep an eye on the reservoir tank levels. It was air locked, that's all.

same thing happened to me, turns out i had an itty bitty baby pinhole in the coolant line running to the throttle body. replaced the hose, burped the system, problem solved.

+rep to 5speedwonder Good clue to potential coolant issues.

One thing all should keep in mind is that coolant has a distinctive 'sweet' odor.

There should be no smell in the engine compartment or vehicle cabin.
If so, guess what.

OP, if it was your headgasket your oil and coolant would be mixing and look like chocolate milk, and their would be other major issues. There was probably just air stuck somewhere along the line. If still worried, lay down some newspaper and park your car over it and look for drips.

Out of curiousity I followed your link and they do not carry any water pumps for GD or GE Fits.. But you can get a steal on an OE clutch kit made by Daikin (~$175) though I don't really know anything about the company to be honest.

Also for those who are looking for replacement or upgrade water pumps make sure you get a metal "closed" impeller to avoid cavitation and premature pump failure.
