ticket update:
Spoke to the court clerk this morning and they had not yet recived a copy of the ticket so could not do anything. He will call me back and speak to the state attorney's office once he receives their copy....and see what can be done. Ticket was dated 9/13/10 and court still does not have copy???

They do or not, doesn't matter. You've made positive contact with the court, better if they don't even know about it - now they'll be thinking. You've been told, "....and see what can be done.". That's the wiggle room opening. The court suggested it - not you or your lawyer.

The system really works well if all follow good intention and follow the rules. How often does that really happen.?.

By not lawyering up you have streamlined the process. You can now ask about a reduction if what they come back with isn't quite to your liking.

You're in a positive position with the court. That's good.
