Honda Fit or Scion XB?

Help, please. I love my 08 Honda Fit Sport but last year in Omaha we had one of the heaviest snowfall winters on record. I am a real estate agent and got stuck so many times in the snow it was very frustrating. I got high centered, mostly, due to the ground clearance and deep snow on the streets. I am contemplating buying a Scion XB and trading the Fit in on it. Is there a winter solution for my car? Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Yes you will need to buy winter tires and that should solve your concern.

Well since you love your Fit then don't sell it. Get winter tires ( I recommend Michelin X-Ice) and if your Fit is lowered then raise it back up. Since it was record snow fall you probably won't have to deal with such an extreme winter next time

Hmm i have both well sort of. I pick the XB up this Saturday. I will say this there about the same height off the ground and about the same power. So i would say if u sell the Fit don't go with the XB maybe a Subi AWD

I don't think an Xb is the answer to your problem. Those things don't sit much higher than the Fit and probably run on the same size tires. Any kind of pick-up or SUV would better serve you in snow.

Yeah, a rwd pick up without any weight on the rear is the best idea...
Just get good tires or a 4wd, no need for a suv.

You don't solve FWD problems by buying another FWD car.

I'm pretty much covered all year long...
FIT = spring/summer/fall
4WD CROSTOUR = winter

XB or FIT... I think the FIT looks more capable on snow

believe it or not... I do agree on how goofy xtoor look and so does many forums

I've been switching on the fit and crosstour going to meets and to those that swear it's ugly as hell took their word back... some back that is and others actually liked it. You really have to be up close to appreciate one. A few test drove it and let's just say they're pretty much surprised on how it hauls.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's rock solid in terms of reliability. Personally, I may have gone for a WRX wagon or something if I needed a wagon with four wheel traction. But that's just me :P

not trying to hijack the thread (LOL sorry op) I do hear you but I think it's just me and accords. I totalled my 6th gen and thought I need another accord... so I did get one and made it a 4wd. I'm salivating on the 2011 STI tho hahaha

I'm biased though... I've had two Evos, though admittedly I did want the Subaru at first and I did give it a chance. While I realize that the 2011 has a few tiny upgrades (aren't the suspension upgrades on the 2010 STI Special Edition now standard across the board?), I don't see it changing the STI drastically to the point where it's suddenly going to give the Evo a run for its money in the handling department. It's still a great car though, and it's definitely nice to have options.

Or Outback, Rav4, Imprezza, Legacy, SX4 or some other low priced AWD machine. I'd give 4 snow tires on the Fit a fair chance first before you ditch it.

dont do a subaru, especially the ones made in indiana. they suck arse. warranty problems, stupid local dealers, etc.

Fit + snow tires will drive like AWD cars with all season tires. i speak from experience.
