If you are looking for the year with the least number of Fit produced in Japan, I think it would be 2011. That was the year of the tsunami and Honda shut down the factory for Fit production for many weeks. The factory, parts suppliers, and shipping of material were interrupted.

I was told my 2013 fit was also not made in Japan because operations were still down but I haven't had any issues with it

These days, in the US, I'd say it would be a 2016 Fit with a manual transmission.

Look at your VIN. If it starts with a J, it was built in Japan.

And my 2012 was Japan built, so things were definitely back up as all 2012/13 Fits for US market were Japan built.

But was it built by Honda? Or Mugen? Same grayness that comes with Alpina and AMG and Rouch and Callaway and Shelby,

I've never seen a Lunar Mist Fit, I think it was a myth. LOL
And I don't know how popular the bright yellow Jazz was - but we didn't get that color in the states.

There is one that pops up on occasion in the Lake Jackson/Clute area. It's a Base with aftermarket yellow fog lights in its lower grill.

Outside of getting what you want....
Does anyone ever purchase a Fit with the concept of value created by rarity?

Generally speaking, I'd rather own a Mass Produced Vehicle, with a proven track record, that everyone likes...
than a rare vehicle, plagued with problems, with a rare vehicle support structure.

It is a Honda Fit, it is super simple & common.

But you best believe I really like having one of the least common colors ever offered on the car (Orange Burst Metallic, 2012 only, not sure if Sport only).

I wish Honda offered production numbers by color.

If memory serves me right, it is a Sport only color... Much like how Black Berry Pearl and Midnight Plum was in the US. Add the fact that your's is a manual, and its pretty much a needle in the hay stack for the 2012 model year.

Nice! I should have specified, GD3 only. I just never got into the styling revisions. I like the original.

This is my GD3. Its yellow, 1.5 VTEC, manual, and seems to be the only one with this combination in my country.

Over here, people would probably try to hail you as a cab, since Yellow Cab was a big thing for decades.

They're called Jazz in Ireland right? I always look for them when we are in the UK.

Yes, we get the Jazz. Mines been imported from Japan because I hate European spec.
