Bout to buy a pair of Fits

Hey guys, brand new to the forum... I should be taking delivery of a 2011 white auto for my wife and an orange manual for me in a couple weeks. I've been through Bonnevilles, a Park Ave, a Dakota, and am selling a Lexus LS430 to what i believe will be an upgrade to the Fit.

Anywho, I know i have a lot of reading and learning to do, but can someone give me the basic info I need- like actual model code of my car, other pertinent info, the obvious quick upgrades... based on the other forums i've been a part of, i think you know what i mean.

Looking forward to interacting with you guys a bunch!

jeff

Thanks guys! I'll check out those threads for sure.

Are there any sites you guys use for accessories that are better than others? Like, for floor mats and the cargo area cover if I don't want to get them from the dealer. What about headlight and fog light bulbs? Is there a general consensus that a particular set is way better?

Thanks again,
jeff

Check out the sites that advertise on here, like zeta products! You should also take a look at weather tech digital floor liners. If you want OEM Bernardi parts are pretty cheap... as for the headlights, well the Philips should give you the best bang for the buck just check this out https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...-new-post.html

Lol, what was it about the Lexus LS430 that you didn't like compared to that of the Fit's? Don't get me wrong, I love the Fit, but I'm curious to know what you didn't like about the Lexus.

Welcome Jeff! Wow, two fits! You'll love em!

I came from an LS 400, great car for what it is (heavy, comfy, great long distance car) but wasn't the most fun to drive....even after I did suspension.

The Fit, on the other hand, was made for quick, fun jaunts around town. Great fun in a small package! =)

Look at my sig for mods...love them all.

Oh, I love my Lexus... what I don't like is the 10 years and 265,000 miles it has... So, in some ways it'll be a downgrade- the Lexus is a UL (Ultra Luxury)- so there's a lot to it, but also a lot to go wrong... Therein lies the upgrade.

Thanks for all the info guys- I just got an ETA- My wife's white auto should be here this weekend, mine the week before Christmas.

Man! I always wanted a UL LS! Did you have air ride? I always wanted a UL to get a controller to adjust ride height. Yeah, they are expensive when something DOES go wrong.

The Fit is much more "practical" even if it is a downgrade...and much less to go wrong! =)

Don't forget about College Hills. Usually a little more expensive than Bernardi, but worth mentioning. I've ordered from both, and they were equally responsive: 2007-2011 Honda Fit Accessories : Genuine Honda Accessories at Discount Prices

My wife and I recently bought new Fit Sports and we really like them. We both had MINIs before that and all of our friends are thinking that we've lost our minds. We just decided that fuel economy, reliability, utility and general lower monthly cost were more important than high performance. (My wife had a JCW and I had a Cooper S.)

Jeff, I hope you guys enjoy your new Fits as much as we've enjoyed ours.

Ha, no I didn't lose my job... we are having a baby though... we're selling my wifes Bonneville as well... Just want practical, efficient, and cheap to maintain. I have read through the "what don't you like about your Fit" thread and was pleased to find very few mechanical issues. Most complaints were about lacking amenities. On the contrary, go over to Clublexus.com and start a thread like that... Here's what I'd say: I'm a little ticked that my Nav DVD rom went out. The parts are soo protected by Lexus, it costs $3000 to replace. My right Cat Conv. is below threshold- thats only $1500. Yes I have the air ride- love it, but many many guys have had that go out- uh.... how's $8000 to fix that sound? BTW, anybody wanna buy my Lexus?

Besides all that- yes my car is totally loaded- i have motors in the vents to oscillate the air back and forth, I have massagers in the back seats like a chair from Sharper Image- and they recline- figure that out, there is a refrigerator in the back, there is an air purification system for the rear passengers, the headlights self level every time you turn the car on, the wipers automatically sense vibration and temperature change and wipe intermittently as needed. The seats are 18 way power. there is a stupid volume knob for when you lock and unlock the doors. WHAT FOR? Point is, of all the luxuriousness, I daily use about 10% of it, yet have to pay for it all. Everyone looks at my car and thinks wow- I did too, for the first month. Then it starts to fade... then something breaks, then you just don't care anymore...

just trying to help you understand my POV.

Thanks for the other suggestions!
jeff

It seems that we bounce around through different car styles on here. Silly fickle humans!

(Accord LX, Civic LX, Wrangler SE, Sonoma Extra-Cab, Element EX-P, and now the Fit... Also briefly a CR-V LX)

Congratulations on your upcoming purchase! You have an interesting list of previously owned cars that made me think of myself (having gone from a 1995 Honda Accord EX coupe to a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo LS 4WD to a 1998 Mercedes-Benz E320 to a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX to another 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX SE while regularly driving cars of family/friends living with me like a 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe, 1997 Toyota Camry LE, 2004 Toyota Corolla S and 2010 Toyota Corolla LE).

Good luck with everything! I joined this forum a few months back when I was considering a Honda Fit (though I haven't made the decision to do so yet).

I upgraded from a 2000 VW green new beetle to a 2010 Honda Fit. Payments & insurance went up, but better gas mileage & no maintenance. Plus, my Fit won't have brakes locking up at 45 mph like the beetle did. Very scary. I'm thrilled & love my car. Looking forward to accessorizing it more in 2011. Enjoy the new rides & welcome to the board.

My first car was the Fit and I've enjoyed it since I've gotten it. So many years left to go fast but take it slow for a college student that's broke (won't stop my modding bug).

Enjoy the Fits!

Well, we got the white auto for my wife- very happy with it so far! Mine won't be in for a couple weeks. The first night I had it debadged and all the stupid stickers taken off. The H on the back- If i take it off, is there a smooth gloss black surface behind it, or is there an impression of an H behind it? what about the front?

Thanks!
jeff

Congrats on your new Fit(s). Did you get the white in 2011 or 2010 model?
If you got the 2011, you may be one of the first on this forum to have a 2011. Post some photos!
I love my Fit-- moved on from a 1996 Subaru Wagon. The Fit is much more fun to drive.
